uhoh, newbie making a Sue bag!!!

You could have done a swatch to see how many stitches and rows you have per inch and that way you can work out how many stitches and rows you would need to do for the same size bag as it is originally in the pattern.

 

eg 10cm x 10cm = 22sts x 30 rows (and then divide by 4 to get what you get per inch or divide by 10 to get measurement per centimetre)

 

Once that is worked out multiply by how many inches or centimetres to get the number of cast on stitches. ;-)

Thanks for the help everyone, my next question is where can i get a pattern for the bag you are all making (the one with the wooden handles) its a very nice bag, i am just in the middle of making the gumdrop tea cosy and enjoying doing it. Thanks x

thanks for that :-) sorry to be a pain but what does f&b mean, i am still only learning and want to learn as much as i can thats why i like Lets knit mag as it easy(ish) to follow. Thanks again and sorry to keep asking x x
