A) What would your dream business specialize in?

B) Where would you run it from?

on a bigger scale?

Hi sequin my dream is to own a quirky shop that has american country craft goods ,i,m sad but know what would be in the window..an old trunk overlowing with sumptious homespun fabric,an old worn rocking chair with a homespun quilt and of course some gorgeous Annie dolls,an old desk bursting with crafty materials and bits and bobs ,bunting spelling out the name of the shop which of course would be "QUEENIES"gifts staight from the heart. I would love to run it from a quirky shop in St.Andrews or Edinburgh and would love a family run buisness.Sequin you have created a monster..ohhhh to win the lottery. What about you, what,s your dream?Hugs to you and the bump Tracy xx

Now, I've obviously never thought about owning and running my own craft business. Never ever have I sat whiling away the hours with "what if" dreams running through my head. Never have I wandered around a craft shop, eyes glazed with excitement at the thought that one day, I might, just might, be the proud owner of such a wonderful store full to the brim with amazing goodies. A store that I would run to open each day so I could play. A shop where I would fling open the doors and have all my crafting friends join me in stroking beautiful papers, and cooing at the fabulous array of ribbons. A store where everyone would be sent home with a goody bag in hand, full to the brim with much adored stash surprises for them to squeal at the sight of, squealing so loud, their echoes would be heard in the next town.

But, if I did ever have such daft thoughts, this is what they would be...

A) What would your dream business specialize in?

What, I have to pick something? One thing to specialize in? Nah, that's not right, I can't do that! Can I? What, I have to? Oh decisions decisions. Erm, Umm, Errrrm, Hmmm, think Jules think, erm, I would specialise in...erm, all things beautiful? Does that count? No? Oh okay, I would specialise in papers and ribbons. I'd be surrounded every day by beautiful, stunning, strokable, loveable papers and ribbons. What more could a gal ask for?

B) Where would you run it from?

I've not got a particular place in mind, but I would love it to be run in a cottage or similar by a river or canal. With a little quaint teashop serving homemade scones and clotted cream, and lots of table space for people to play!

C) What do you think youmight call your business?

I'd stick with Creative Makes thank you very much.

D) Would you prefer to run it all yourself, if on a small scale, or have other staff,

on a bigger scale?

Well, I would like to run it myself, but have someone else that would be capable of running the place if I fancied eloping off somewhere.

E) Where in the World would you run your dream buiness?

Somewhere in Devon I think, lots of quaint places on riverbanks here! But I'm open to offers!!

*Wakes Up*

Back to washing the dishes then...

wonder who'll be next to tell..................................................................!

all we can do is wait and see........................

My dream business would really be to design and create handcrafted cards, so rather selling the finished product than crafting materials. So pretty close what I have started on a very small scale, but on a much larger scale and preferably without the need for another job. I would also love to produce items for publishing and promotion. Writing my own craft book would also be a dream.

Working from home is good, but a house with separate craft room and office would, of course, be much better. But the location for any business activities would not change. I am more than happy with Edinburgh.
