  1. Hello everyone! We are delighted to announce the winner of Make & Sell Jewellery's forum challenge for issue 58, the main theme of which was Valentine's Day. This romantic holiday inspired some beautiful entries and we've really enjoyed seeing them all. And the winner is Diane's Designs, who wowed us all with her lovely Venetian-style mask. Created after attending a wirework mask course by Rosanna who works as a bundle designer for Jewellery Maker, Diane says, "I think the intrigue of a mask fits well with the Valentine romance theme." Fashioned from pink and antique bronze wire, she then adorned her creation with genuine pearls for that final feminine touch. Congratulations Diane - don't forget to email your full name and address to [email protected] so we can send out your prize. We are also launching a new type of challenge to all you designers out there. Show us your latest creations on the forum, or on our Facebook page and each month we'll select our favourite to win a prize. It can be inspired by the projects in Make & Sell Jewellery or your own unique design, so grab your tools and get making. Happy beading! Melissa Hyland Deputy Editor

  3. Hello everyone, It's time to announce the winner of the Make & Sell Jewellery forum challenge for issue 57 (January '14), which had the New Year as its main theme. Christmas can be a hectic time that doesn't leave a lot of spare time for beading, so we'd like to thank everyone who were able to send in their entries. There were some lovely glitzy designs, perfect for any party, and the winner is maillemanz with her gorgeous Shooting Star necklace. "I have wire wrapped lots of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystals with ball pins and added silver-plated chains to make this focal pendant. This can slide onto a cord with the sturdy jump ring at the back," she explains. We love the bright colours and the tail of trailing chains - well done, your beady goodie bag will be in the post soon. Don't forget, you can still enter our latest forum challenge for issue 58 (February '14), which is based around Valentine's Day, the perfect opportunity to create some romantic designs. You'll find it here at http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49955-make-sell-jewellery-issue-58-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-3rd-february-2014/ Happy beading! Melissa Hyland Deputy Editor
  4. Hello everyone, The forum challenge for issue 56 of Make & Sell Jewellery ended yesterday, and we are delighted to announce our new winner! The theme for this issue was Christmas and inspired some beautifully festive and glitzy entries. After much debating, we were finally able to make a decision - so it's congratulations to paperkate for her gorgeous necklace and matching bracelet. Created for herself to wear at a Christmas concert she is performing in, this beautiful set was created with gold and silver chain maille rings that are faceted all the way around. These were linked together to form chunky sparkling ropes and a smoky teardrop pendant adds the final touch to the necklace. So well done paperkate, and don't forget to email your full name and address to [email protected] so we can send out your prize. We'd also like to thank everyone else who entered and to remind you that the new forum challenge for issue 57 - our New Year issue - is now open. Send in your entries to http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49841-make-sell-jewellery-issue-57-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-2nd-january-2014/. Have a lovely Christmas and happy beading! 7. Hello everyone, It's time to announce the winner of Make & Sell Jewellery's issue 55 challenge, which had Glitz and Glamour as its main theme. We had some lovely entries that would be perfect for all those upcoming parties. And the winner is MsSugarbean, who emailed us this fabulous image of her elegant bib necklace. She says: "It was made using some beautiful pearlesque leaves and tiny faux pearls with little crystals put in. It was all attatched to chains of differing lengths to form the cascade of creamy pearls and leaves. It took ages to wire up each bead and leaf and attach them to the chains, but I'm really happy with the result and think it makes a real statement." So congratulations, and make sure to email your full name and address to [email protected] so we can send out your prize. Thanks also to everyone who entered - there's still time to take part in our latest challenge at http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49639-make-sell-jewellery-issue-56-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-2nd-december-2013/ Happy beading! 8. Hello everyone! We are delighted to announce the winner of the Make & Sell Jewellery forum challenge for issue 54! Inspired by the colours and motifs of Autumn, we had some beautiful entries and we'd like to thank everyone who took part. And the winner is - Diane's Designs, with her beautiful Sunflower brooch. Inspired by these gorgeous, OTT blooms, she used black plastic 2mm rondelles in the middle, attached to a black wire spiral, plus gold colour seed beads and 1mm wire for the leaves, woven with 0.4mm gold coloured wire. This would be perfect to brighten up a winter coat and remind us that though summer is over for no, it will be back before we know it. So congratulations Diane (and don't forget to email your name and address to [email protected] so we can send out your prize). Meanwhile, there's still time to enter our latest challenge for issue 55, at http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49449-make-sell-jewellery-issue-55-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-3rd-november2013/. Tablet cosy

I treated myself to a tablet recently (it's a lot more convenient to take to knitty club) and thought I'd make my own cosy with the yarn I won in one of the LK challenges. There are no seams .... I used and knitted in the round with .I've lined it with (faux) sheepskin and I've still to felt the wool ..... but it's serving its purpose for the time being

  12. Hello everyone, It's the moment you've all been waiting for as we present the winner of the Make & Sell Jewellery issue 51 forum challenge. The main theme for this issue was Summer and it was fascinating to see the various ways this was interpreted by those who entered. Sadly, there can be only one winner, so its congratulation to maritrez, who created this gorgeous choker necklace and matching earrings, using vibrant beads in a rainbow of colours. We think you'll all agree, this set would be perfect to wear at a festival or any other open-air event with a pretty sundress. So congratulations maritrez, your entry will appear in our Your Space article in the September issue of Make & Sell Jewellery, which goes on sale on 28th July. 13. Hello everyone, First, apologies for the delay in announcing the winner for the Make & Sell Jewellery forum challenge for issue 52, we fell a little behind due to staff holidays. However we were delighted to see the lovely pieces that were entered, including some new faces - welcome to the Make & Sell Jewellery forum, it's great to see what you are creating! After much deliberation, we have now made our choice - so it's congratulations to Beadaholic and her beautiful summer bouquet set! Inspired by one of the projects featured in issue 52, she made polymer clay hearts in pretty colours that were then textured with a piece of lace and dusted with iridescent powder to show up the pattern. These were then embellished further with dainty clay roses and we think you'll agree they look just like the real thing! Beadaholic then added her own personal touch by stringing the hearts onto pink cord and using macrame techniques to weave a bracelet, earrings, a pendant and a bag charm. So congratulations Beadaholic (and don't forget to email your name and postal address to [email protected] so we can send out your prize). We'd also like to thank everyone who entered and to remind you that the forum challenge for issue 53 is still ongoing and closes on 2nd September - visit http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/48989-make-sell-jewellery-issue-53-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-2nd-september-2013/ to enter. Happy beading! Melissa Hyland Deputy Editor
