  4. Hello everyone, Welcome to the latest forum challenge for the December issue (issue 56) of Make & Sell Jewellery, on sale from Friday 24th October. This issue is based around Christmas with plenty of fabulous gift ideas and jewels to wear at parties, plus exclusive copyright free designs, advice from business experts on selling your jewellery and much more! All you have to do to enter is: * Produce a jewellery make based around the main theme of Christmas, or one of the other themes or projects within the magazine. This means that you can either enter your own unique creation, or a piece based on one of the projects featured in this month's issue. * Feel free to use any beads in your stash and try out different techniques too! * We ask that you post a well-lit, good-quality picture in this thread, with a little explanation about how you created your entry and any details about the beads and techniques used. * One entry per person please (overseas entrants welcome). Challenge closes at 5.30pm on 2nd December 2013. The winner will be announced shortly after and a fresh challenge will be opened for the new issue. And the winner will receive a lovely beady goodie bag and appear on the Your Space page within the magazine! Any questions, please feel free to email me at melissa@aceville.co.uk. We look forward to seeing your entries! Melissa Hyland Deputy Editor

    Alphabet/Letter beads

Hi everyone, This is a really quick query to see if anyone can help! I'm making wine glass charms as Christmas presents, and have some generic charms but I would really like to include some more personalised ones with recipients initials on them. I'm having real trouble finding somewhere that sells metal/silver plated letter/alphabet charms that aren't cubes, and aren't sold in a pack of 26 including the whole alphabet. If anyone knows where I could find them I would be very grateful! Thank you Zoe
  6. Hello everyone, It's time to announce the winner of Make & Sell Jewellery's issue 55 challenge, which had Glitz and Glamour as its main theme. We had some lovely entries that would be perfect for all those upcoming parties. And the winner is MsSugarbean, who emailed us this fabulous image of her elegant bib necklace. She says: "It was made using some beautiful pearlesque leaves and tiny faux pearls with little crystals put in. It was all attatched to chains of differing lengths to form the cascade of creamy pearls and leaves. It took ages to wire up each bead and leaf and attach them to the chains, but I'm really happy with the result and think it makes a real statement." So congratulations, and make sure to email your full name and address to melissa@aceville.co.uk so we can send out your prize. Thanks also to everyone who entered - there's still time to take part in our latest challenge at http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49639-make-sell-jewellery-issue-56-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-2nd-december-2013/ Happy beading! 7. Hello All, I just joined this forum it looks very informative. This is my first post and I hope that I post it in the right room. Does anyone know this type of bead's name? Its material is an aluminium, a little bit oval and has like 4 facets/sides. Here is the picture: http://www.imgbox.de/users/lillyli/haberdashery/IMG_7094.jpg I shall wait for any advises and many thanks before.
  8. Hello everyone, It's time to announce the winner of our forum challenge for issue 53 of Make & Sell Jewellery, the main theme of which was vintage-style. It was great to see the many ways in which this was intepreted by the entrants, with all kinds of beautiful and timeless pieces. After much deliberation, we finally decided on a winner; so it's congratulations to Fallow, with her gorgous 'Born Again' bracelet. This lovely piece was made by upcycling glass pearls in various sizes from a broken necklace, which were attached to a chain maille bracelet along with lucite pink flowers and green leaves, plus a key charm for a suitably antique look. We adore the fresh colour scheme, which would suggest spring whenever it is worn. Well done Fallow (and don't forget to email your name and address to melissa@aceville.com so we can send out your prize). We'd also like to thank everyone else who entered and to remind you that our latest forum challenge for issue 54 (currently on sale) can be found at http://www.homecraftforums.com/topic/49255-make-sell-jewellery-issue-54-forum-challenge-closes-at-530pm-on-1st-octber-2013/ The main theme is Autumn, so get your thinking caps on! Happy beading, Melissa Hyland Deputy Editor

  10. You know what it's like, the new comes in and we frequently throw out the old. This time I've been good and used what we have alongside the new beads. I think that I deserve a well done. For the good behaviour, not the necklace. Although I hope that you like that too. More instruction are on my blog. This so makes a change from filling bags with beads and findings. I just had to do something. Yvonne
