  1. Finally I have worked out how to do this top which has been the bane of my life this month.i can't honestly believe it has taken me almost a month but there you are. It turned out I had to pick up stitches at the sides and I also ended up using a smaller needle. well hopefully now I have started this bit it will soon get finished. Anyway enough rantings(mild) I was thinking I have small knitting triumphs whichi find if I can get past then I am a lot happier(this being a case in point). Does anyone else have these? Eureka moments. And also do you read a knitting pattern and think"utter madness! Why would anyone pick up stitches like this........or cast off in such a way..................................aargh it calls for crochet..........I am doomed................"

Excellent advise Busy. I don't know if you have joined one shoulder or two. I have done similar things and I would say it's best no matter what they say to only join one, that means it's a lot easier to get around a neck and if you don't have circulars(sometimes the case) should cause less problems. I think there are quite a few ways to pick up and knit. sometimes I just pick them up like little holes instead of proper stitches. is it in stocking stitch? I wanted to do that vest and I know what you mean I had problems with that stupid Evie pattern. I ended up wasting it totally. Busy is probably right and I think she has given a far more through explanation. Also I'd go on Yout ube video jug or instructables even when you have donea thing a load of times you might just have forgotten a tiny step(especially if you are good knitter and it sounds like you are!) ps hope that ddn't sound patronizngI have often been reduced to near tears by this matter.

    Night night folks

Night night girls and boys. Have got the kids off to bed. Finished all my knitting and sewing up and just have to wash one thing then get them all dried. Suddenly seem to have not very much wool and loads of needles but that is no bad thing. I don't know who has a wilkinson's but they seemed to have a good few new shades in their wool a bit brighter and nicer(but still about 99p) I may knit another thing for the baby I have already knitted for at least it would match. My son has been helping me go through all my needles which was quite good. And recently have ben teaching my daughter to knit but like mummy she is impatient with herself.(and quite good though I say so myself)

    latest going'son.

I have just had to send my son off to look for my daughter all round the block. I thought she was being bad and had just fallen out with someone and wandered off so was all ready to go don all guns blazing. Anyway she was crying because a local.................toerag of a little girl was THROWING STONES AT HER HEAD.. I am not impressed. I took her over to the gil gave her a piece of my mind. The mum is out shopping I just had to have a pc vent! Sam (my daughter) is fine now but really................ Oh and this girl is about five sam is eight She was laughing at her for crying. Apart from the above incident have had a productive day checking the uniform situation etc. well the naughty little madam is crying now.good I say.
