Yes, I too have used salt before. Once I have put the salt down I then pour boiling water over it and after a week or so the weed dies and can be easily pulled away.

    Hi to Everyone

Wow thanks ever so much. I was quite surprised to see myself. That photo was taken early last year, I think it was January or March. We were in Barcelona. Lovely for that time of year too. Maggie thank you for all your work and persistence.

    Hi to Everyone

Thanks Maggie50 but I must be doing something wrong! My photo still isn't there. I take it I have to save my photo which you shrunk,.... into 'My Pictures' .... and click browse .... then double click on 'my photo' and then click Upload Photo? Because that is what I did. I also logged out and logged in again but the picture still wasn't there.

    Hi to Everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I like all sorts of crafting . I have done sewing, made quite a few things in my time. Such as a suit, (jacket and skirt), I took it to work to show the girls and one lady asked me if she could buy it, so that was that, gone! I made my own overalls for the factory I worked in. I made skirts, trousers tops. I wore a pair of the trousers at work and ended up making and selling them to the girls. I used to do a lot of knitting and then when we were on short time at work in the early 70's, my friend and I made cuddly toys and sold them. We saved the money up and went to Canada and USA . We did that for 3 yrs. In those 3 years we went to Toronto, Disney World, (just building Epcot Centre) Miami Beach, Hollywood and Las Vegas. I actually put my photos in 2 Beano Scrap Books, they are still there to this day. So it just shows you, I bet a few of us have scrapbooked without knowing it at some point in our lives. If anybody knows how I can put my photo in my profile I would be very grateful.

Well "Thank You Very Much" to you ALL. :-) What a wonerful warm welcome you have all given me. I was very surprised :wow: to see how many of you welcomed me to your great Forum. Let me start by saying that I am 54 yrs of age. My husband and I have no family. We used to have a dog but unfortunately lost him through old age at 16. I live in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. I don't know if you are allowed to say where you work, so for now I will just say that I work part time. Once again, thank you for all your support. x

    Household Help & Top Tips

I have a great tip for cut flowers in a vase. I made this up myself and have never heard of anyone do this. My reason initially was to actually feed the flowers. I didn't get the flower feed that normally comes with the cut flowers. So first I tried sugar, but that didn't seem to do anything. Before putting your water in the vase, put a few drops of washing up liquid in. The reason being it helps to keep the flowers fresh longer. ( i don't know how, all I know is it really works) The added benefit is, once the flowers have died and you are ready to clean your vase, it just needs a quick rinse in fresh warm water, no scrubbing etc because the washing up liquid has helped. =================================================================================================== Regarding scuffs on trainers !!! Simple as anything lol, just throw in the washer. I do it all the time.
