    Jubilee baking!

I had a bash at red velvet cake - I'm hoping it doesn't just taste of food colouring but it's very red!! The cream cheese frosting was too runny and split so I had to scrape it off, and it is now adorned with berries, white chocolate buttons and icing sugar! Red, white and blue of course!

Who do you most enjoyed stitching for?

I find when I'm knitting for other people, I put so much pressure on myself to make it perfect. When it's just for me I can relax and enjoy it a bit more!

Adrienne's (dep ed on Let's Knit) courgette choc cake!

Hi guys, I made it for my WI Cake Club tonight and there was some mixture leftover so I made another one to bring into the office. My OH doesn't like courgettes and we got two in this week's veg box. I had heard tell of people using them in cakes so thought I'd give it a go. I googled for a recipe and found this. Seems it's rather tasty

    Ruth in Let's Knit March

Hi there, It's one of those patterns where the stitch count increases throughout until you have 16 stitches. On Row 8 you cast off 6 stitches to decrease back down to your starting ten stitches. You need to work into each of the wraps from the y2rn or you won't have enough stitches to complete the following row. You do not drop any of the loops. The decreasing is done later on in the pattern repeat. Adrienne

What do you most enjoy making?

I've just moved house so it's definitely Home Textiles for me. I'm going to make cushions for my knitting corner

    sophie, bolero

Hi Lottie, We think there was a slight mistake in the short sleeves. Where it says "cont without shaping until Sleeve meas 3cm", we think this measurement should be taken from the beginning of the stocking stitch section. We are not aware of any errors in the Shape Sleeve top though. I know BecciB has completed this bolero as she has posted a picture of it here. If you're still having trouble it may be worth dropping her a Private Message to see if she has any tips for getting the sleeves to fit. Hope this helps Adrienne

Who do you most enjoy making cards for?

I like making cards for my friends as I can try some different, more modern colour combos, etc. For family I tend to stick to more traditional designs.

  15. Hi everyone! It's the new year and we bet that there are quite a few of you who have made a resolution to reduce your stash. Here at HQ we like to be useful so the theme of the next challenge is stash-busting! The project can be as large or small as you like but must be made using a yarn or several yarns that you currently own. We'd also love to know how long that yarn has been in your stash, come on, it's confessional time! The winner will receive some lovely goodies. The closing date is 13th February at 5.30pm UK Time. One entry per person please. Entries can include multiple items that are part of a set, although size will not be taken into consideration when judging. Your item can be knitted or crocheted, using any yarn you like. Ideally projects should be made specifically for this challenge. When you’ve finished, just post a picture on this thread, there’s no need to send it in. We look forward to seeing what you come up with! Good luck everyone

    Question of the month!

Hi everyone, This month, we're asking you how often do you visit your LYS (local yarn store)? - More than twice a month? - Less than twice a month? Why do you go - is it to browse the yarny goodness, to seek out bargains, or do you mainly go when you're after something specific? Let us know! Adrienne

What no more competitions or challenges???

Hi everyone, We'll get one organised this week for you all. We decided to leave it for a while because of Christmas but now it's the new year and you're not all snowed under with pressies, we can start them up again. Off to think of a theme.... A

    LK50 Faith baby hat

Hi everyone, You may have noticed that in this pattern you are asked to cast on 80 sts but the chart only goes up to 75 sts. We have reworked the chart to fit 80 sts, please see below. You should be able to open up the file and save the pdf, but if that doesn't work, please email support@letsknit.co.uk and request one to be sent to you. Sorry for the confusion. Best wishes Adrienne

Poll time! :) What is your favourite occasion to make cards for?

I find that Christmas gives me the chance to be more creative because I try so hard to make each card different. I don't stretch myself so much at Birthdays - that can be my NY resolution!

issue 45 kim pattern -extra stitch

Hi guys, The row ends with the slipped stitch to keep the pattern correct right up to the edge. However, as you will be losing this end stitch when you sew together the back seam with mattress stitch, you could choose to knit it if you wish. Adrienne

    LK Question of the Month

Hello, It's that time again knitters, time for the LK Question of the Month. This month we want to know... Do you spend more than £20 a month on knitting? We're talking on average here, not just this month... the run-up to Christmas is always a bizarre entity that has no correlation to our usual habits. We're really interested in what you all have to say

Is this pattern (still) wrong or am I?

Hi, As far as I'm aware that is correct and I think they mean it to be size 9-12 months, but I will check with Patons and let you know. Be in touch soon! Adrienne

Is this pattern (still) wrong or am I?

Hi guys, I'm really sorry but we've just double checked and the correction we put up is actually incorrect. The pattern for the hat, should be Row 1: p2, * k5, p2, rep from * to end This is for all sizes. I do apologise for this. It should all add up now. I'll amend the Pattern Updates section. A
