big shot-do i really really need one ?

thank you to both of you, I think I've made up my mind to just go for it, I've watched a few YouTube clips and the whole thing seems pretty simple, I am searching online-and the going rate for the new machine seems to be £89.99 which is the machine and a few extras, which would give me enough practice to feel confident. Its my 32nd birthday on Thursday so if I get any money its going on the machine instead of the hairdresses (I think............)
  2. Im toying with the idea of buying a big shot-I don't want to spend £100 on one, so a well known internet auction site will have to be the place I purchase it from. Im wanting to spend £50ish on one-but do I really really need one ?? I don't want to spend money and find I don't use it enough as I don't craft everyday. Also I struggle with the idea that I feel like im copying a family member, as they have one-copying is not something im comfy with at all !! what to do ??

Big thankyou to you Galina for the lovely napkins you sent to my Louise-shes used the lavender/basket napkin and poppy napkin on some decopatch boxes for my mother in law in Spain-they go lovely in her home over there. She still has lots left and bought a plain magazine box file type thing which she is intending to cover. Aside from this she is intent on decorating venitian masquerade masks for her bedroom wall-why did i ever let her on ebay...........ive shot myself in the foot there havn't i :-)

need ideas for "special teacher" make

Hi all, Ive decided to go with a scrapbook memory book-ive ebayed my heart out and bought an A5 sized coverable frame type scrapbook, i think im going to put a pic of my son in the front. I bought some papers (lacey linen pretty flower types) and ive a ribbon from a box of chocolates im going to use to fasten together. I bought some 'travel' type rub ons but ive lost them in my house somewhere-maybe ive binned them by accident-I hope not !!!!!!!!!! i will def post when done-im glad ive an ongoing project to consume myself with since the children went back to school today, and after having a week in spain with them and a week at home for half term i do miss them terribly But saying that I do have hubby and my vw t25 and vw beetle projects to think over too.............are there enough hours in the day ??????????

need ideas for "special teacher" make

thankyou for your post, I did think that if i saw a scrapbook and it was a little beyond me i could do the frame idea-theres not so much area to cover and it could be a bit more personal and hand made. I saw one once that was made for a baby girl and it had a heart in the middle and lots of the rub on type wording. this is a big possibility many thanks :-)
  9. Hi guys, My autistic son is in a mainstream school and leaves to start high school in july. Hes had a one to one sen teacher for five years up to last july. The head teacher then decided that he should get on without her for this year-its been very difficult for him. However, as he will have a leaving assembly at the end of july we thought it would be lovely to give her a gift of flowers in this assembly, but i want to give her a bit more as a keepsake of their time together. they have had many ups and downs together, she always says she needed him as much as her needed her (she went through a bad divorce at the time). I did think of a scrapbook of joshs memories of her over the past 5-6 years, we have a few pics of them-but none where there closly stood together. Maybe i could use nice papers with sepia ink (gotta learn how to do this first) she is the sort to like the good houskeeping mag and next and laura ashley-i figured sepia would be ok. I could use those rub on sentiments and use the alphabet ones to write out Joshs memories. can I buy a scrapbook where i can put a photo in the front enclosed in a frame-i dont know quite how to explain it but i can see it, if that makes sense. ??????

Hi there, im new to the forum, but my daughter has been decopatching since before xmas-she loves it, i was just wondering if there was any other alternative to the rather expensive hobbycraft decopatch glue and papers, and can you actually decopatch a lightshade ? her ambition is to be a surgeon and while shes off work in the evening when she grows up, to decopatch her table ( shes 12 years old) !!!!!!!!
