Here you'll find a recipe to make summer berries jam in the microwave, courtesy of Denman College...

What you need...
  • 500g (1lb 2oz) summer berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 500g (1lb 2oz) jam sugar
  1. Sterilise jam jars in the oven, then plunge the lids into boiled water. Blend defrosted fruit briefly and place in a large microwave bowl. If you'd rather have bits of whole fruit in your jam, you don't have to blend at all. Add the sugar and stir well.

  2. Microwave on high power for three minutes, then stir. Repeat for a further three minutes, then stir.

  3. Repeat for a further two minutes, then check for setting point. You can test this using a wooden spoon - twirl some of the jam around the spoon to cool, and if it forms peaks and doesn't drip too much, your jam is ready. Microwave for a further minute if necessary.

  4. Pour into the warmed jars and cover whilst hot. The yield for this recipe is 900g (2lbs).
