instructions
  1. Heart - 1 Draw a heart to use as a template. Transfer it onto the reverse of two pieces of fabric.

2 Cut out the hearts, leaving a 1.5cm seam allowance, and pin together, with right sides facing.

3 Using running stitch, sew most of the way around the line you have drawn, leaving a 2cm gap. Make small snips all the way around the seam allowance, as shown.

4 Turn the heart through to the right way and stuff. Pin and sew the gap closed.

5 Iron a hot-fix character onto the front. Sew a loop of satin ribbon, 3mm, to the top.

  2. Felt frame - 1 Cut a ring from thick cardboard and sandwich it between two sheets of felt. Pin in place. Sew running stitch all the way around the outline. Cut away any excess, creating a doughnut shape.

2 For the photo cover, cut clear film to size and tack in place to the reverse of the doughnut. Trim a slightly smaller felt circle and stick to the back, creating the picture pocket.

3 Iron a hot-fix character onto the front of the frame. Sew a loop of satin ribbon, 3mm, to the top centre.

  3. Assembly - 1 For the base, take grosgrain ribbon, 16mm, then fold the top end over and back 2cm, before stitching the loop in place. Thread 3mm satin ribbon through this and tie in a loose bow.

2 At the top of the base, tack a strip of 9mm velvet ribbon in a 'V' shape. Add a button. Hook the frame around the button.

3 Repeat this step and hook the padded heart. Under the shape, iron a hot-fix character in place to finish off the base.
