Crafts Beautiful Magazine

When I received my brief to make a flower-themed card using iris-folding, I have to admit that I had never tried the technique before. So I took on the challenge of designing something a little different. Instead of an actual floral shape,d I thought a flower created from a simple circle and leaf design would be a perfect project to showcase the technique; effective but not too complicated for a novice. I’ve used gingham, plain and spotty papers so as not to overpower the finished design. Having a straight, crisp edge on all the paper strips is essential to create the neat, precise finish required, and ensure that the iris folding looks professionally executed every time.
