ring pull jewellery

Recommended Posts

I recently posted some makes using bicycle chain.

The lovely stakreem asked if I could use ring pulls to make something.

No idea, but I'll try I said,

so she sent me a bag full of them to experiment with.

Here is my first experiment.........

So thank you so much for the packet in the post Linda

and I will leave you all to decide whether it works or not!

TFL.

Kate, you are amazing with your ideas!  I know some chainmaille sites that would absolutely love your designs!  Keep up the great work!  Thanks to Linda to, for sending these ring pulls to you!  :)  Wendy

It certainly does for me Kate, great idea using jump rings, to connect them up, I think chain mail uses jump rings. Your designs are brilliant did you enjoy doing them and are you inspired to do more.?

Thank you so much for your enthusiatic responses Wendy, Linda, Louise and Denise.

I certainly had fun seeing how this one would evolve, but I have some other ideas lurking around too.

The jump rings I had were too small to allow all the ring pulls to move freely, so I made larger jump rings to link all the ring pulls together, but reverted to my usual rings for attaching the beads.

I coloured the ring pulls first with alcohol inks on the outward face only.

I'll see how long lasting the colours are.

The photo doesn't show the colours too well

- gloomy Scottish wet day here!- but they are turquoise and a bright greeny-yellow.

Brightens up the day anyway!

Thank you all for stopping by and commenting.

Very reassuring.
