silly knitty mummy

started socks

Recommended Posts

as some of you know I've only been knitting this year, my new wip is socks!

I'm attempting 'dreamie' from issue 47 of LK.

prob take me a while as not the fastest knitter

is it best to complete one sock then start the other or sort of do both at the same time as so not to get 2nd sock syndrome?

I'm going to make these socks for a friend for Christmas ....

I usually do 1 sock at a time but a lot of people do make both socks at the same time .....

Looking forward to seeing your socks when they're finished .... What colour are you doing them?

Sounds lovely SKM ..... I don't think I'll be doing the frill as they may be too fancy for my friend like that but I'm sure she'll like the lace pattern though .... I quite fancy a pair for me ..... Added to the huge "To do" list

Happy knitting :-)

I usually work simultaneous socks when I know the pattern already, and if I have two suitable balls of yarn to use. I wouldn't do that on a new or difficult pattern, because of potential confusion. Also, I do not suffer from second sock syndrome - the opposite actually - I must cast on the second one immediately.

twicw now I've got as far as completing the 1st lot of the 12 row pattern & gained 3 extra stitches :red:

so have unravelled it all & will try again another time. think I have yrn but not slipping stitch on skpo therefore gaining extra stitches.

I'm going to do another 2 snowmen for my mum & a friend so that will keep me going until the end of the weekend!
