Happy Friday

Morning ladies!

Have just read this thread but got confused and can't remember who's got what on today! You've all merged into one knitter rolling around in all that cheap wool whilst waiting for a fit plumber!! Sorry - I'll blame the throat infection - must have gone to my brain!!

I'm back at work :( and am bored senseless! I've got a floorplan to draw up but it's the most frustrating computer programme in the World. On the bright side, I've made good progress with the dungarees I've been knitting this week and will hopefully have them finished by Monday.

Just baout to send OH up to the pharmacy - one of you lovely ladies suggested liquid Piriton for my hayfever and as I've run out of my useless tablets, I think I'll give it a go. He's under strict instructions to come back with the strongest stuff possible!!

Keep smiling everyone - it's nearly the weekend!!

Dietgirl - It's not so bad camping as the girls are 16 and 14, then we have Alex who'll be 5 by the time we go away. It was great last year as we went to Haven at Mablethorpe and there was plenty for them to do, especially as their ages are all out of sync. The girls just went off and done whatever teenage girls do and my wee boy just wanted to play footy and frisbee, ride on the free train and follow the characters around! It was awfully expensive though and pretty "pushy" - we had to walk through an amusement arcade just to get to the centre of the resort where all the shops and pool was. Anyhoo, I'm digressing! It's really not that bad - we are definitely getting an electrical hook up this year though and staying away from the more commercial sites. (Off to Castle Howard in Yorkshire) My little one tended to play all day and wear himself out so settling him at night was pretty easy!

Knit&flee; - My problem is I hardly ever pace myself - it's difficult as when you're having a good day, the temptation to launch into all the stuff that needs doing is too much! I'm off to see a specialist on 17th July, so maybe I might get some advise on the pacing! Do you ever suffer from "mind fog"? I find this extremely hard to cope with - I'm like a 36 yr old with senility sometimes, it's awful. The worst thing I've ever done is take my medications twice in 2 hours as I'd forgotten about the first dose. Now I write them down and DH (bless him, he's wonderful!) keeps an eye on me!

Conking out doesn't sound so bad right now! I've been having nap time every afternoon from 4-6 and I'm going to miss it today.

My best friend has ME and I know it took her a couple of years to get used to it and she still overdoes it sometimes now. She says the best thing is to know your limits and if you are going to push them, that you leave yourself plently of time afterwards to recover. And NEVER beat yourself up about being knackered because it just makes it worse.

Afternoon all Still sunny here at the mo but have had a few clouds coming over. Just come back from knitting & sewing group - were shoved in a totally unsuitable room again so may stop it at the end of term. It's just a nightmare with no room for cutting out, for sewing machines or the ironing board. Have spoken to the manager again who was all sweetness & light & agreed with me - but does nothing to change the situation. Sooooooo frustrating!!!!!!! It doesn't help that my chronic fatigue from my fibro isn't good & I haven't the energy to fight at the mo.

Going to have lunch & then watch Royal Ascot & knit. Nothing planned for tomorrow but on Sunday we're going down to my Kate's for a Father's Day bbq so need to pace myself too.!!

Julie - I know what you mean about "mind fog" + I have "Senior moments" too!!

Lauren - pacing myself is something I'm SLOWLY learning. Feel like an old croc so much of the time.

Anyway folks - off for lunch. Now what do I fancy?.............

Buzy :)

I've had to learn to pace myself and it's really difficult. My CBT has just come to an end too so now I'm on my own and have to start pacing myself because I've got to cope without counselling. I've got PTSD so I can't rush things because if I push myself too far out of my comfort zone and overdo it completely, I go back to square one and it takes longer to recover.

Liquid allergy relief has arrived!! But OH says if it makes me drowsy I'll have to stay at work till he finishes as I won't be allowed to drive so I'm going to hold off taking it till bedtime as he's just booked a table to take me out for dinner - yay!! We go out so little as we can't afford it so it's a real treat! Diet will be put on hold tonight for sure!!

Buzy - do you pay to rent the room for your club?? Because if you do tell them you're going to vote with your feet and not bother rebooking, I imagine they'll bend over backwards to find you somewhere else so that they still get the income from it.
