Make a gorgeous giraffe canvas and pretty bunting for a baby's nursery

What you need...

• Dies, Sizzix: Bigz L, Giraffe (658639); Elephant (658638); Triangle (659853); Bigz, Flowers Layers w/Heart Petals (658053); Alphabet (657893)
  
• Sizzix Big Shot machine (657900)
  
• Fabric: Fly Away, Dashwood Studio; mid-blue
  
• Fusible webbing
  
• Canvases, 23cm x 31cm
  
• Ribbon, satin, white

instructions

1. Applique Giraffe Canvas - 1 Cut two lots of mid-blue fabric, 40cm x 45cm. Apply fusible webbing to patterned fabric, then die-cut a giraffe. Fuse the giraffe onto one of the blue rectangles, 15cm from the top and 13cm from the left edge.
   
   2 Sew each element in place using straight stitch, then add a mini blue button for an eye. Stretch the fabric onto a canvas frame, stapling at the back. Fix a picture hook for hanging. Repeat to make an accompanying canvas, using an elephant die and three mini hearts from a flower die-cut.

2. Bunting - 1 Cut six triangles from patterned fabric using the 659853 die and apply fusible webbing to the backs. Fuse webbing to more fabric, then cut out the following letters using dies from the alphabet set: one each of w, l, c, o, m, a and y, then two each of e and b. Next, use the flowers die to create fabric hearts, backed with webbing.
   
   2 Trim six more triangles from mid-blue fabric and apply fusible webbing. Choose 11 triangles and fuse one letter to the right side of each of these, then stitch in place. Fuse two hearts to two grey triangles and straight stitch in place.
   
   3 Sew matching triangles wrong sides together. Turn out and press. Stitch the triangles to white satin ribbon, leaving 3cm between each one. Fold the ribbon in half to cover the raw edges of the triangles.
