These beautiful, striking blooms are the ideal way to transform everyday items

What you need...

• Paper, watercolour, medium and lightweight
  
• Card, A4, ivory, mid-pink, hot pink
  
• Ribbon, 15mm wide, pink gingham
  
• Rub-down words, pink
  
• Pen, brush marker, green
  
• Rub-down words, pink
  
• Pads, foam adhesive

instructions

1. Poppy Card - Cut ivory card, 14.5cm square, to form a blank. Using the wet-intowet ink technique, paint several poppies in a random arrangement onto medium-weight watercolour paper. Embellish the flowers by sketching wavy green stems, drawn with a brush marker.
   
   Trim the illustrated sheet, 9cm square, using a craft knife butted against a metal ruler for a clean edge. Cut a second panel, 10cm square, from hot pink card and centrally mount the decorated poppy section onto it. Add a sentiment to the lower right-hand corner of the greeting, using rub-on wording.
   
   Take a length of pink gingham ribbon and knot around the front of the card, 1cm away from the fold, then trim each end at an angle for a tidy finish, using sharp scissors. Centrally adhere the layered panel to the greeting with foam pads for dimension, as shown.
