Give a plain tote a glitzy makeover with these easy crystal brooches

What you need...
  • Acrylic stones, round, clear: 11mm (Jr03655), 15mm (Jr03665), 20mm (Jr03675)
  • Sequins, square, 5mm: matte purple (Jr02938), matte silver (Jr02898), metallic aqua (Jr02915), metallic pink (Jr02927), glossy lilac (Jr02941)
  • Glue gun (Jr02001)
  • Brooch backs (Jr04993)
  • Fabric: mesh, patterned
instructions
  1. Crystal Brooches - 1. Sew or glue 5mm square sequins onto a circular piece of stiff fabric. Start from the outside and work inwards so that the sequins overlap, leaving a coin-sized circle in the middle of the material free.

    2. Cover four different-sized acrylic stones in coloured mesh material and a final one with thin patterned fabric. Stretch the material around to the back of each gem and tack the ends in place.

    3. Arrange the crystal in a cluster, with the patterned fabric piece in the middle, and use the glue gun to fix them onto the centre of the sequin base. Adhere a brooch finding to the reverse to complete.
