We shed the light on glass painting to make sun catchers with stunning results

Follow Jane Kharade’s steps to create these gorgeous, retro-inspired glass sun catchers picturing delightful birds with sgraffito style detailing. The paints are cleverly mixed together to create several lighter shades, then a wash of pale colour is carefully applied to the back of the glass panel to add a little interest without distracting from the main design. Black is just perfect for outlining the birds, but why not try another colour? There are several different pens to choose from; give gold or silver a go. Plus, you could try glitter paints that are specially designed for glass, as these add an interesting dimension to your work.
