I found 2 really great books last year.

1. Knitting for Dummies
£12.99
ISBN - 0-7645-5395-x

2. Crocheting for Dummies
£12.99
ISBN - 0-7645-4151-x

1. I hadn't picked up any knitting needles or a crochet hook for well over 10 years. The knitting book I have found especially helpful in teaching me to knit properly (not letting go of the needle when you put the wool round!) and helping to decipher the abbreviations on knitting patterns. I'm now knitting with more confidence and my tension is a lot better just for "carrying the yarn" in a recommended way! It teaches everything from all the basics e.g. different yarns, needles, changing colour etc. to creating patterns and making your first garments. A great book to have to hand with your copy of Let's Knit! I would recommend this book to all beginners and improvers.

2. I could only remember how to make a chain!! This book reminded me how do double crochet, and taught me to half, treble, and double treble correctly!!

Both with all the stuff you expect from the "Dummies" series. All the clear instructions, pictures and tips for experimentation.

Making a note of the ISBN makes it a lot easier in the ordering process. I got mine on order from Waterstones. Both were in approx 7 days from ordering. I've found both on ebay too!!

Get the books and lose a lot of fears!! cool smile

Cool
I have card making for dummies. It is the deluxe bumper book. It has over 400 card designs. It is a little pricey tongue laugh at 20.00 but it is worth it.
