I feel like I’ve been really lucky this last week, winning a prize in three different challenges!

So, I thought it was time for me to pay it forward!

So I’ve had a tidy up of my craft room and I’ve put together two packages.

1) A big bag of bead soup!!!! There are some small bags of coordinating beads, and one big bag with all of those odd two or three beads that you get left over from a make.

2) A bag of papercrafting goodies, including card blanks, papers, rubber stamps (some used), some sheets of Christmas decoupage that I had left after doing all the office Christmas cards, etc….

I’m looking for two people, one fairly new to jewellery making (less than 6 months say), and one fairly new to papercrafting.

If you could post on here saying when you started up your hobby, why you started, what you enjoy about it, and what you do with your makes, I’ll then select two winners on 30th September after 6pm!

If there are a lot of entries and the decision is a tough one, I’ll resort to the good old random number generator to choose!!!

Hope a mod can sticky this for me.

Good luck everyone
x

What a nice idea. Hope you get some takers though from the obviously shy newbies.

If no takers in a couple of days I’ll extend to those making up to a year!

Thanks for all the nice comments. To be honest it helps me too, as I’m running out of storage space LOL!!!

How nice of you gaynor to do a great challenge…Im just in the process of starting up jewellry making id been put of before after seeing some awful makes and none of them inspiring me..But a few weeks ago i popped over to the jewellry making thread and started looking at the gorgeous makes on there and WOW!!! is what i said,  The talent of the jewellry makers on here is out standing and i was completly sucked in…I sat chatting to DH and he had said he’d get me a starter kit from santa claus, he then said he’d get me one in a few weeks so i was so excited and couldnt wait to get started..I started chatting to the jewellry makers and finding out some good things and ive made some more good friends now,  I know im not going to be able to make things like them just yet its just knowing that as i learn more ill get better just like i did with knitting and crochet.  I then got a lovely message from be a darling helen and also ronnie who are going to help me if i/when i get stuck lol.

Be a darling helen has also been a diamond and has sent me some lovely things to get me started bless her..she was having a sort out and so sent me some things she no longer used, im ever so greatful for all of her help and her generosity.  Im also greatful for all the help and advice ive recieved from people on here i really do appreciate it, now just to get my tools going to get a mini tool kit to start with the one in the back of MJ issue 30,
My 7 year old jade is also going to be making jewellry with me so its another craft where i spand time with my princess learning together.  Thanks helen and ronnie and everyone else who’s helped me. and given me the insperation to get started in the first place. smile smile smile xxxx

Firstly, Gaynor aren’t you fabulous!!! what a lovely thing to do and congrats on your wins this week you talented lady!

I’m possibly bending the rules (wouldn’t be like me) but I would like to put my name forward but on behalf of someone else???!!!
Two girls that do crafts at the youthclub are big into their jewellrey and have asked me a couple of times if we could o jewellrey making in the craft corner, but It’s really not my area of expertise and I dont have the money or supplies to get into it….. so my proposal is to put forward the names of the two girls, Amy and Amy, so that they might get fiddling with beads and in turn maybe help me to show some of the other girls how!!
(I now have around 20 kids at the craft table each night!!!!! big surprise , so the help would be good)

Of course I understand if this is against the rules!!!!!

Hello, I started making cards as a hobby recently, about three months ago, up untill then I only made cards if it was a family member’s birthday from limited supplies. I have branched out into decoupage and whatnot, but I find Papercraft supplys add up, and I would be very grateful if you could help me along the way!
Thanks grin
