My lovely husband made me buy a cuttlebug today and I have been playing around with it this afternoon . I have a silly question , when you use the dies , is it meant to mark the plates or am I doing something wrong ? I dont want to use it again just in case I am doing something very wrong !

I had the same worry when i first got mine.
They sell replacement plates so i guess they expect it to happen.
I mostly use mine for embossing!

Yes it is normal, they will also bend quite allot, don’t worry they last for ages.

When they do brake you can buy replacement plates quite easily

Watch you don’t turn it over when it bevels or it will snap, keep using it same way up and same one on top x

Oooh, I don’t, I turn them each time, that way they don’t bevel at all.

If you turn them each time the wear is more even

Hehehe that’s nice your husband MADE you buy a cuttlebug!

Yes I asked the same question too. It does cut into the plates. I was only using one side to the dies at first and the plate curved quite a lot, so I started using the other side of the same plate too. It is now as straight as when I first bought it.

My DH works with plastics and is making up some spare plates for me, when the others break. He is also making some that I can keep and use just for embossing.

hehehe would you believe I was the one who originally taught him how to use the tools?

The power tools that is! About the only thing he knew how to use when we met was a hammer LOL

Now that’s a story and a half!
