I nervously tried glass slumping last night, and this is what I found in my kiln today!!!! Not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt!!!

It’s a method of melting a sheet of glass with extra frits down into a mould Claire! Takes many many hours in a kiln, and at the moment its very experimental for me, but once sussed, I’ll be able to make pretty bowls and plates from glass!!!!

Thank you.

I’ve not had any lessons in this, I just followed some basic instructions for glass slumping that came with my kiln, and then experimented a bit LOL!!!! Hence te rough edges at the moment!!!

Thanks Kate and MT.

I’ve another one lined up to try this weekend. The glass is all cut and ready to go. So I’ll run the fusing schedule tonight, cool tomorrow, and then run the slumping schedule Saturday night. Fingers crossed I find something nice in the kiln on Sunday cheese
