OK, there should be a section for newbies like me to put their photos in...I'm nowhere near the standard of the rest of you, and your photos put mine to shame!!
But, in the spirit of the forum, here is my 1st ever knitting project on the needles.

I thought I'd start with something easy. It's just a scarf and only in knit stitch, but it's helping me keep my tension sorted out. smile

Your scarf is beautiful grin

I think garter stitch is grossly underrated, I love its springy texture.

Love the colourway, is that Crofter you're using?

Do you love crocheting and knitting for charity? Make and send 8”/20cm squares and help keep a cold AIDS orphan warm.

Thankyou red face

It is a Sirdar, you're right. Sirdar Crofter DK in Rambler Rose. Really nice to knit with...not that I have anything to compare it with, but it feels nice smile

Very good for a first, it looks lovely! Don't forget every experienced knitter had to start somewhere. Welcome to a brilliantly rewarding pastime smile

Andieu, that's a very pretty scarf, it's lovely. And your tension is really very good. I've just started a couple of brand-new knitters at my work and I have to say that they are nowhere near as neat as you! You are right to be proud - well done you.

Look forward to seeing your next project grin

Hi Andieu, I don't knit anymore as my eldest daughter does all the knitting that the family needs so I have time to consentrate on other crafts, but just had to say I think you are doing very well with your knitting.

The scarf is beautiful, love the colours and your tension looks great, keep up the good work, your doing fine. As Maritrez saysI I 'started with a dish cloth and a teacher breathing down my neck' also, we all have to start somewhere and I would never have believed this was your first attempt.

Look forward to seeing what you try next.
