OK, there should be a section for newbies like me to put their photos in...I'm nowhere near the standard of the rest of you, and your photos put mine to shame!!
But, in the spirit of the forum, here is my 1st ever knitting project on the needles.
I thought I'd start with something easy. It's just a scarf and only in knit stitch, but it's helping me keep my tension sorted out.
It is a Sirdar, you're right. Sirdar Crofter DK in Rambler Rose. Really nice to knit with...not that I have anything to compare it with, but it feels nice
Your scarf is lovely ..... Crofter is a lovely soft yarn ..... Keep going - we all had to start somewhere & you're doing really well I'm still learning & I've been knitting for donkeys years!
Why not pop down to the Knitty Chat section & say hi? We're a very friendly bunch of all ages & you'll be very welcome .....
Hi
Well done on your first project feels good doesn't it to make something and for it to look good? I love the colour..
I'm a newbie like you - only been knitting a few months but have made a few scarves and hats and just completed my first baby tank top..
This is such a friendly site and everyone is very helpful and supportive.. Speak up if you need help..

Andieu, that's a very pretty scarf, it's lovely. And your tension is really very good. I've just started a couple of brand-new knitters at my work and I have to say that they are nowhere near as neat as you! You are right to be proud - well done you.
Hi Andieu, just saw that this was your first project and just wanted to say well done! I am not a knitter as I love my card making but have always wanted to knit. I am so impressed that this is your first attempt, well done and look forward to seeing your next project x
Hi Andieu, I don't knit anymore as my eldest daughter does all the knitting that the family needs so I have time to consentrate on other crafts, but just had to say I think you are doing very well with your knitting.
The scarf is beautiful, love the colours and your tension looks great, keep up the good work, your doing fine. As Maritrez saysI I 'started with a dish cloth and a teacher breathing down my neck' also, we all have to start somewhere and I would never have believed this was your first attempt.
