I have downloaded issue 26 i think of sew, theres a hit the deck template for a tote bag (oilcloth) by lynne garner, it says that is page 75 and you need to see page 25.

Does anyone have the instructions for this bag? i have been buying sew mag for a while but i unfortunately missed this issue, i have used this template and cut out the bag layout section but have no idea how i am supposed to put the pieces together.

It's a PUBLIC e-mail hunni.

It is all over google and everywhere (via searching magnolia flowers or photography or other people who use the name for their photography pages)

so it is completely safe, i also have a telephone number from the site that everyone can see, thats OK to distribute too as its a mobile number, it used to be a business prior to my disability so i have alternative email addresses for private, but i use this one and distribute it publicly because everyone can see it anyway and i publicly use it. It comes in useful, it's what i pay for.

I run a charity and I'm well aware about safety and legislation from both the charity and my previous business (i have SPD and i am in a wheelchair-its a SPD charity) etc. but the distribution of the email is totally safe and fine.

As long as there is no forum rules against it I am perfectly happy using it.

I managed to make the bag without the instructions and i wanted to share the results, RE: free downloads: Tote bag.

I also made an A4 and an A5 tote bag with no templates or instructions, with what i had left of the fabrics.

OK, ladies and gents, i am uploading the pics to the bag with this thread, and any comments welcomed as long as they are respectful and nice, criticism is not needed but tips are welcomed.

This was my first EVER sewing project, i have never sewn before so im happy with it. It is for me. And the 2 other bags i made for a 9 and 11 year old i know xxxx

DETAILS:

Tote bag from sew mag:

Used cupcake fabric for outer, white lined with floral pocket.
Pocket was sewn off center to allow space for a phone and accessories.
Press stud fastening.

Eyelets and ribbon with kawaii heart bead. (was going for a kawaii bag-japanese Decora influenced)
Added a transparent bear charm with dangly bits, and a blue ribbon on one cupcake and a striped button on the other.

All these accessories were placed on the front of the bag.


MY OWN PROJECT:

2 tote bags, one A4 and one A5 (just a little wider so they fit these sizes and carry them)

Used the last of the fabric and stitched ribbons as handles.

Hi there...

I'm LOVING your magazine and website having just recently got the sewing/embroidery bug again...

I was wondering if you have downloaded/could direct me to the templates for the Applique Sewing Kit which I have started to make but didn't realise that I needed templates...

It would be lovely if you could help as I'm stuck until I can use the template for the cupcake pin cushion...I've winged it on everything else...lol...

Hi Sarah welcome to the forum, if you click on the SEW tab right at the top of the page, there is all the downloads avalible at the mo on that.
If it is a project from the most recent Sew magazine, then it might not be up on there to download yet, but keep a look out.

I had another dig around and actually found it on your downloads list above but it was called "cake day" . This is a different name from the project name on your website...which was called "Applique Sewing Set"...so if anyone wonders why they can't find the templates in the downloads above...it's because the names are different...

Hope this helps anyone in the future...it's such a pretty little project...
