Not done any knitting for ages but suddenly the bug has got me, the past few weeks I have knit 4 baby jackets (first granchild due January) a pram blanket, a cardigan for my aunts christmas gift, a fluffy lacy scarf for me and I am now sat looking at wool I bought for a scarf and wondering if I will get a waistcoat from it, I never use a pattern except a very basic one just for the outline of a garment and I design as I go along, some times it works others I have to pull it out and start again, did the back of my aunts cardigan 3 times before I got it right,

We have a Knitty Chat section too where we have a daily chat so why not come & say hi? We're a mixed bunch of all ages & abilities & you'd be very welcome .... Happy knitting!

Hello Eliza, I am like that with patterns, but I am a firm believer everyone should knit how they want to, and lot of people like to use instructions. Some people like to knit because they want a unique item of clothing, and others just like working with sticks and string.

Congratulation on becoming a Grandma, and welcome back to knitting.

never thought to take photos of my knitting, taken the baby things to the new nursery now, started knitting some wool last night but have pulled it out 3 times already as I can't decided how or what to make with it, at the moment it is the back of a waist coat with a lacy hem, may not be like that this time tomorrow, at least I won't have to buy more wool just yet, better for the purse.

Hi and welcome from me too grin Nothing better than a new baby on the way to inspire a bit of knitting and it sounds like you're definitely hooked now! Good luck to the expectant mum for January and wow sounds like you've been knitting up a storm cheese
