Bought a craft robo a few months ago after following all the threads and looking at beautiful cards, had a go once but only something simple, cutting out letters.

Problem being it doesn’t seem to cut the whole letter out cleanly - It holds on to the paper at certain bits if you know what I mean at different places of the letter….. I am only using paper at the present moment….

Result I have not used it again, however I have to make a few cards and the same thing is happening again.

Sorry if it not clear what I’m trying to say .....

HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Hi Ann
I have that problem sometimes when the paper or card isnt stuck on the sticky sheet proper
make sure you rub it down well. also are you using the proper colour tip and the pressure not too high.
bit of a learner as well but getting there x

You are getting there a lot faster then me, I have seen your cards they’re lovely!!!!

I got the machine from ebay and its in great condition (harldy used at all) but I thought I would just use the old sticky carrier at the beginning that came with it and its not really that sticky, so I will try with the new one I have tomorrow.

I am now a bit more hopeful…..

Thanks so much

Thank you Ann, I was nearly throwing mine out the window LOL you can restick the sheets using
crafters companion stick and spray its repositionalble , watch when you use paper on a new sheet
as they are very sticky and can tear your cutting , good luck xx

I would try thin card.  Also try a different font - some fonts cut much better than others.

Thank you again.

Still trying :-(

Have now used the new carrier v sticky…. still no joy, even got Hubby working on it tonight….

Will try different font.

I have noticed however that the blade hardly appears at all when using Blue, Red or yellow i you know what I mean so I don’t really know how it will cut….

Will keep trying

Hi there, Have used the Robo Craft quite a lot now , After making sure you have the right blade fitted make the first cut and then without moving the cutting mat do another cut. I have found that this often works.
Hope this helps.

I’ve also found that putting it through 2 or even 3 times without taking it out at all does the job.

Hi Ann

The best weight of card is about 160gsm, but the robo can cut upto about 220gsm.  I always use the pink cap (I’m lazy!) and reduce my thickness and speed as necessary.  On 160gsm I usually set a thickness of about 18, but this does depend on whether its a new blade or now, if its a new blade then it may only need a thickness of about 10 or 11.

Try reducing the speed to about 4 or 5 and doing a double cut, i.e. highlyight your whole design, right click on your mouse and choose ‘copy’, then right click again and choose ‘paste’,  this will put an exact copy of the design, perfectly over the original and your Robo will cut twice.

Hope that helps a little. smile

Just wondering how you got on doing the double cut.  Has it got rid of your problem ?  Have just used my machine and cut some delicate letters out of some thick card (using the double cut) and it came out fine. grin

Hi

Haven’t had a chance to try as yet….. and going away for weekend.

It is on top of my list when I get home…..

I look at the machine ever day sitting in the box and think what I could be doing!!!!!

I don’t feel the instructions are that great on the leaflet, is it easy to reduce to speed??  And when you say the pink cap, I only have red yellow or blue….?

Thanks again for help

Hi Ann

By pink, yes I mean red.  Reducing the speed and thickness is really easy, its just 2 sliders that slide left to right in the Robo controller when you go to cut.

The instructions are not great, I think you’d benefit from joining UKScrappers as well as this site, there is lots of help in their craft robo section on the forum.

Good luck and let us know how you get on once you get back from your weekend away.

You can send Robo to cut as many times as you like Maggie, sometimes it will help to go through thick card, sometimes it won’t.  Your very welcome. x
