Does anyone know where I can get some gold and/or silver coloured lurex? I want the thin stuff that I can use alongside normal yarns to give them a bit of sparkle. I spent nearly an hour looking online and there's not a lot around in the UK and the ones I did find seemed to vary so much in how much you got and thickness (some said they were DK weight!) I got confused and thought it best to ask if anyone has experience of these things and knows of a good place to shop for it. Ebay is out for me as I'm far too scared of it. I look forward to hearing if anyone can help.

ah I was gonna suggest ebay cos thats where the red one came from but otherwise Im not sure... what about hobbycraft or somewhere like that? xxxxx

Only one I know is Twilleys Goldfingering from www.knittingwoolandyarnshop.co.uk. I believe its 4ply. You could also try machine knitting yarn that comes in a fine thread and in lurex. You'd have to google that. Hope this helps

Thank you everyone, you're all marvellous! I went with the Twilley's from Purple Linda - she's great at sending stuff out quick, really friendly and the Twilley's looks just the ticket. Yay!
