Right so my great gran is 95, and I have 8 balls of Sidar Click chunky with wool but the question is... what do I knit? I cant honestly say she'd even know who I was if I turned up on her doorstep right now so my dad always takes her her presents and she always gets excited by hand knit gifts (the mohair shawl from last year... she just kept saying 'she never knit this... oh my') but figured she may not want another shawl but her house is chilly.... help!!

A bed jacket, although chunky might be too thick, but then again old people feel the cold. Cushion covers , hot water bottle cover if she uses one, a blanket made up of squares of all different stitches to put over her lap or maybe just a nice cardie.

Mmmm Dark - just the stuff I was drooling after yesterday (still tempted to buy it!!)

I'd go with the above....another thought could be a draft excluder if the house is chilly cos of drafts under doors....also need to consider how practical it is re any mobility issues....don't want her tripping over it or unable to move it!

A lap blacket is a good idea or a shoulder shawl with pockets. Click is lovely. What colour are you using?

A sleeveless cardi (gilet) was the best thing I ever made for my Mum (81) she gets cold easily (even in Summer) and while a cardi is too much, a sleeveless one is just the ticket and it doesn't make her feel 'all claustrophobic' from having too many layers on as she says herself!

The colour is lilac and white twisted together, it looks very pretty and for some reason just really reminds me of her... Im probably going to go for a cardi for her... I can remember her making loads of aran chunky cabled cardis when we were kids as christmas presents and things... I can't honestly remember if she wore cardis like that too... but I always associate them with her LOL

shawl came to mind but obviously no good for this yarn or if you made one before you need something different. i would go for knee blanket a gillet cardigan or i remember seeing something which is a bit unusual but it was a thing that went over the chair arm and had pockets to put tv remote in phone etc. might be helpful for her when she is sitting down? socks come to mind too or those cosy slippers bit like ballerina slippers
