The October issue of Let's Knit will feature a toy knit/crochet book so if you're knitting for children this year, don't forget to have a look at that grin

Brilliant Elaine thanks for letting us know.

Janice I'm one of those who have to have something in their hands when watching telly tongue rolleye for me its either knitting needles or a crochet hook A lady I know has been fundraising for the local hospice for about 25 years now and is willing to take anything I make. Most of the things are just small using up odds and ends. It's all in a good cause. You never know I mean need the hospice one way or another in the future who can tell and they have to raise the money for the running costs themselves. My bits are a splash in the ocean but all the splashes added make for a large amount of water.

Good luck with your knitting pressies

I don't think I will have time this year to knit Christmas pressies as I will have my hands full getting stuff knit/crocheted for the baby cheese

ive started my crimbo knitting today smile

this first pattern im knitting is a toiletries bag from ravelry, this one im knitting tho is only going to be a sample to get me used to the pattern as the base isnt looking very strong so going to do the proper gifts ones with double strands for base and single strands for the lace sides, will post a piccie up when its resembling a bag shape more, its on dpn & my first time using them (the free ones from lk) was quite fiddly to start off with but OK now ive got thru a few rows.

ive made a list of whose having what handmade and so far...
mum: hodded scarf, toiletries bag with smellies(handmade from local shop) in and a knitted shower puff too, maybe a jewellery set too
sister: slouchy beret, toiletries bag same as my mum, a handbag charm
ds2: tank top from a past issue of lk & a knit bus & blanket set (also from a free book from an lk offer)
ds1: hat & scarf set most likely try & do a ben 10/transformers/power rangers style

thats it so far, dont want too big a list to try & finish otherwise i will panic!!

My oh my everyone else is starting too....thanks for making me feel less mad smile he he

This year I decided I am going to make everyone something small and knitted as part of their presents, I am going skiing for christmas so I will be too busy getting packed etc to be trapsing around shops buying stuff people don't really want!

Here is my list:

Ollie (bf) nothing, he got a macbook pro last month from me ha ha so he is sorted

Mam: A lacy scarf in fyberspates scrumptious dk (merino/silk blend), I think I will do the branching out one from ravelry
Dad: Hat and some walking socks
Sis: Burberry inspired cowl from ravelry knitted in Rowan coccoon and a matching hat in cocoon also
BIL: A new hat at his request he 'really doesnt want socks'
Auntie: socks and a one hour scarf
Niece: A crochet ballerina bunny
Nephew: A crochet dinosaur
Bf's mum: bamboo socks
Bf's dad: not a clue, may just buy him alcohol he he

I think that is all I am going to be working on so I guess its a good job I start now!

Aims x

Adrienne you're not alone - I'm afraid to say I've done no Christmas planning this year, just concentrating on baby stuff LOL

your not alone with looking for things to make urself Adrienne, ive a list as long as me arm of things i want to knit for myself,
im trying to even it out by doing one or two things for family then doing a little something for myself here & there so i dont feel left out LOL cheese

so far ive done two gift bags for my mum & sister & now just started on the buffy hat but making it for my neice shes 5 so attempting to alter the size of the hat by only casting on 90 st's & doing less of the rib as she wont need as much having a smaller head.

for myself i did a little phone cozy based on pop from the knitted gifts collection as i keep losing my ophone & my lil guy always takes it when im not looking, so worried it will scratch (thats my excuse for knitting it up anyways lol)

Wow, you guys all have alot planned!

I'm knitting a stripey jumper for my boyfriend (brown & green), an ear flap hat for my baby god daughter, I've just finished a lace pattern scarf for her older sister, and I'm wondering if I'll have time to make a pair of gloves for my sister.
