Does anyone know what these are for? -

I have just come back from my holiday and whilst wandering through an antiques/junk shop I canme across a gorgeous pair of silver embroidery scissors.  Bargain at £2!  Howeever the scissors also came with these in the picture below.  Does anyone know what they are for?!?

Wonder it they are something to do with holding the embroidery steady while you work , just a guess lol

the hooks say ‘Burlington Arcade’ on one side and ‘Noble jones’ on the other.  around the hook in very tiny letters i think it says made in france.

Burlington arcade is an antique shop deb, why dont you email them the pic
they might find it interesting or even tell you what they are smile

Just looked up Noble jones and that is two things a ladies clothes shop in London and also Noble jones was a carpenter in 1702 – 1775.

But id do what Maggie suggested debs x

Haven’t found it, but have found something similar, which is a belt buckle.

If you scroll down to Levi and Salaman 1912, you’ll see it. It looks like Art Deco…no, can’t find it. Most of them (there seem to be a lot of belt buckles from that period) fetch about £20 to £60. Sorry, not a fortune, but buckles are common and it isn’t jewelled.

The hooks look like button hooks for old fashioned shoes and boots, or else they could by for torture. he he

£20-60 thats amazing if thats right for saying i only paid £2 for the lot and all i originally wanted was the scissors.  Im going to contact Burlington Arcade and see what they say.  Ill let you know!

I have had a reply from Burlington Arcade -

We have checked with the Head Beadle of the Arcade and Noble Jones was a former store in the Arcade, which specialized in cashmere and gloves. It was based in units 12/13 a number of years ago.

so now i need to see if there is a contact for them!  i can see this taking a while!

Could they be button hooks for leather gloves?
but use the hooks through the circle
to protect the glove from pressure damage when wielding the hooks?
