you can ‘weld words’ which makes them all stay together.  You can do this in Inkscape and now the Robo software does it, but it didn’t when I first got mine.  I tend to stick to what I know so keep doing it in inkscape.  I have put together a tutorial

http://www.craftsbycarolyn.co.uk/robosite/wwtutorial.htm

you can give it a go without the robo, it is just a drawing package.

the qk silhouette is the same machine and their site has some fantastic tutorials

Can I just ask what these machines do and if they are easy to use? I don’t have any craft machinery, but I’m very nosey.

They are an electronic die cutter.  I think the cricut is probably slightly easier to use, however the QK silhouette has its own library - which is the craft robo and it is dead easy to use, and there fore much cheaper than the cricut.

I have just updated my blog with a card that I made using a silhouette template.

ski card

you can see loads of stuff I ave done with mine - which should give you and idea:

Hi,

I too am now looking to invest in a Craft Robo but wondered if anyone could tell me the difference between the standard craft robo (CC330-20) and a Craft Robo Lite (CC300-20) - other than the price?

Thanks so much xx

Hello and welcome mummymoments I have the 330 which has an HD memory slot for downloading
your GSD files, that way you can cut without plugging it into a computer, like the cricut,
it also has a magic eye, you can print off a coloured sheet and the registration marks will send instructions to the eye
to cut around your design perfectly, you can also use it for decoupaging your own designs,
but I am not that far yet LOL have fun x
I think the lite just does basic file cutting but not too sure, maybe someone else can enlighten you. !

the graphtec site does say what it foes - it would be handy of they did a comparison:

I think the magic eye is one of the big differences and for me it isn’t something that I would miss much.  It means you can print and cut - so good for decoupage etc.  But if this is not your thing then probably worth getting the cheaper model

The standard craft robo has the optical eye for print and cut (decoupage) but the craft robo lite doesn’t.  Hope that helps. smile
