I’m seriously thinking of investing in one or the other as I’d like to be able to do shaped cards and more with letters/numbers etc but I really don’t know which to get??
Would anyone who has either please let me know which they’ve got and what are the pros and cons of theirs?
It’s going to be a big investment so I really don’t want to get it wrong!
Don’t have any as yet but craft robo is arriving tomorrow yipee!!! The reason I did not go for the cricut was the price of the cartridges. The machine is expensive enough without having to pay £50+ everytime I wanted something new. However I have yet to learn how to use the robo so my opinion my change.
Thanks for getting back to me - that’s a very good point actually, I don’t really want to be forking out for cartridges either! I’m hoping I can do away with most if not all of my dies too, which will save on storage space! I shall keep my trusty Cuttlebug though for embossing with of course…
I’d love to know how you get on with it - are you getting the classic or the lite? I was very tempted to order the Lite earlier as it’s only £100 at the mo, but then thought I was maybe jumping the gun just a little seeing as I know nothing about them!
It is the 330, and I will let you know how I get on with it. I know that crafters who have the cricut absolutely love them so I suppose ther are pros and cons for all the machines. My problem now is what embossing machine to buy as funds have now dwindled. I will wait until I go the the craft exhibition in Glasgow in October and see what they have on offer.

Well my Robo arrived this morning and I managed to get it set up quite easily. Then my problems began. No matter what I do, I can’t get it to read the registration marks so when it is cutting (which it does very well) the cutting lines are a few mms out of sync. Also, when I remove my cut image from the carrier sheet, it curls.
I have a robo to Bev, mine looks lovely on my desk I had a good play with it when I first got it now I hardly use it, Im sure you will use it lots, it takes a little trial and error especially for cutting thicker card like Bazzill I never use the blade they suggest as it doesnt cut through, I did want a cricut at first but the extra cartridge costs put me off beside DH bought the Robo for me for Christmas last year.. The other reason I dont use mine so much is I need my printer up and working if I had that I would do more like printed Boxes and cards and layouts..
I’m in the same boat as u Bev i want one or the other of the lovely santa but i want as much info as i can i think i might just pester Tina for info on the Robo xxxx

I have switched off the registration marks as I don’t print and cut, just cut so can’t help. I think the curling maybe because the carrier sheet is very sticky it will lose that really stromng stickiness.
Thanks everyone for your input….I *think* I’ve made a decision….I want a Craft Robo!!!
I’ve seen a really good offer for one with free p&p and over £80 worth of freebies thrown in, including 3 CD Roms full of downloads (think there’s 200 on each one) and like others have pointed out, not having to fork out for cartridges is another point to consider.
I’m hoping Father Christmas is feeling in a very generous mood this year
I think you have made the right decision. I have had mine for a few days now and I am loving it. I have managed to do some word welding which came out really well but still a long way to go. I am determined to get my prints to cut in the right place but it is a steep learning curve but a very enjoyable one. I cut a whole sheet of small snowflakes and you would have thought I had won X factor I was so excited (how sad am I).
Hope Santa is good to you, mine was an early Birthday present.
Thanks Caza, glad to hear you’re getting on with yours! Did you see the Create & Craft show on Monday featuring the Craft Robo? A forum member was on it (ForeverMemoriesForYou) so I sky plussed it and watched it last night and I’ve definitely made my mind up now!!! I want one and I want it now!! *stamps feet* LOL
