Yesterday I finally got my iPod nano and could not wait to get started. Actually I was playing around until 3.30 this morning until I had some music transferred from my old MP3 player (apart from 11 songs that seem to have gone AWOL at some stage).

But what makes me especially happy is that I can use it also for another purpose:

As gallery of the cards I am making

I hoped this would work out, but was not sure. But it works!

I am scanning some of the cards I am making anyway. I linked now my iPod to the folder where I keep the images. Every time I connect the iPod to the PC the files are getting synchronised. This way my cards are always handy when somebody is thinking about ordering one and would like to see my work. You could really call it ‘portfolio in a handbag’. And I have got it always with me - no more situations where I need to get back to somebody at a later stage.

Now I just need to get better and remember to scan more cards that I am making.

Yup, I’ve got my card photos on my iPod as well. Although this was more by default than planning. I have mine set so all contents of my ‘pictures’ folder go on there but I have found it useful for showing people my cards.

Maybe a bit expensive to get one just for this purpose, but certainly an added bonus!

I was at one of my favourite craft shop today. Previously I could often not show them cards I had made because they were already posted or sold. But today I had the chance to show them the scanned images, which was great. And the quality of the pictures with the iPod nano is brilliant.

My new toy only arrived yesterday, but I love it already so dearly that I popped into John Lewis this afternoon and got a nice leather case for it to protect it better LOL.

Brilliant Scotish Lassie ... but I only just manage my mobile phone so an iPod is way out of my technological league ... I’m a ‘numpty’ remember? LOL!

No, no, you are not a ‘numpty’, Max. And the iPod was much easier to set up than my old Samsung MP3 player. The tricky bit was only the transfer of songs, which were on the MP3 player but not yet on our PC.

And the iPod is also easier to use. I was always struggling with manouevreing round the Samsung player, but with the new toy it is a lot more straight forward.

The only thing I need to figure out now is the iTunes registration and account set-up. I heard that the system is causing some issues under Vista, but I think I will see how I get on. But this can wait for a couple of days.

I have a creative Zen and love it - just can’t get Ipod downloads from crafty sites on it - but am working on it!  I can play my photos back through the TV
