Thanks buzyknitting. The pattern was a freebie from Knitting Daily, it comes from a book called "Knitting Little Luxuries with one ball or less", an ideal book for this challenge LOL

Absolutely fabulous!!! Well done everyone! Dont think I'll be able to compete with these lovely knits. I'm still unsure about the rules. Do we have to create a pattern or can we use a commercial one? If we can use a bought pattern do we have to adapt it or personalise it?

The only rule is that it has to be from one ball of yarn or less. You are allowed to embellish, but you don't have to, and people have entered from patterns and their own designs so far.

Excellent entries, ladies. I am in awe of anyone who can knit or crochet. I tried it ages ago, but just couldn't remember the stitches.

Good luck.

Here's my entry for the challenge grin

I had 40g of my famous vivid pink yarn left so I just had to use it for this and as you can see from the pics there's still plenty left!

Lot of firsts here for me as I made a chart to work from for the beads and then added the beads using the crochet hook method as featured in July issue of LK. Never done either of these before smile

Thats so cute and it looks so fab! Your little girl is such a sweetie!! smile

Suzie how was the beading? For a future project I want to knit the bolero (without checking, I think June LK) and fancy a try. In that pattern you thread the beads directly on to the yarn you're using.

Hmmm - the beading. Well if you pre-thread the beads on (I've done this before for a scarf) then its a lot off fuss in the beginning but the placing of the beads is easier. Just make sure your bead has a big enough hole to accomodate the yarn easily otherwise I can be a pain. Oh and bear in mind you have to keep moving all the beads along the yarn as you knit and if they're a bit tight they can stretch your wool.

For the headband I used the crochet hook method where you put the bead on an ultra thin crochet hook then pull an individual stitch through the bead with the hook. Two problems arose - 1 the hook was so fine it snagged at the yarn trying to pull through and 2 my beads didn't really have holes big enough to comfortably accomodate DK yarn.

Don't let this put you off though as it really does enhance your work but it is also good to be aware of any problems that may arise grin
