Thanks guys. smile  Well I decided upon a small popper to secure the flap and then put a little yellow bead I already had in my sewing box (from when I was a child! red face ) over the stitching holding the popper in place to hide it.  I think it turned out OK. I forgot to photo it again before I wrapped it up and posted it, so have done a cut and paste with another bead of the same colour.

This afternoon I decided to clear out my sewing box as it’s not been touched since I was at school.  It was something that was put together for the compulsory term of sewing I had to endure - still have bad memories of that! - and it hasn’t seen the light of day since.  I found an old notebook in there and had just enough felt left to have a go at covering it.  I got a nice bit of ribbon too and made a heart using those shapes you get in Word and tracing it off the screen.  I’m quite pleased with it, given the notebook must have been at least 20 years old! LOL

Hello, I’ve been at it again! smile  Seems to be my new pass-time for weekends! LOL  OK, this weekend I’ve made a bag from some super-cute fabric I got online from Fabric Rehab - such a dangerous site. LOL  I just made up what I wanted to do in my head, wrote down all the measurements and went for it.  It was so scary cutting that first bit of pristine fabric, but once I got going I was OK.  The only thing I’d do different next time is use pinking shears - but fortunately all the frayed edges are hidden, so not the end of the world.  Hope you like.  I’m dead chuffed with it! cheese

Thanks Buffy and Pink Puppy.  I’m really pleased with this one - my best success so far.  This weekend I’m giving sewing a rest.  I’ve been suffering a lot with poorly hands and am wondering if it’s holding the small needle that’s set them off.  It’s the only new thing I’ve done lately, so it’s looking highly suspicious!  I’m trying to find out whether there’s anything I can use to hold the needle so my fingers are holding something less fine, so they won’t get in a grump.  Let me know if you know of anything. smile
