Hi Jaye and welcome to the forum - great to have you on board!
Have you been a knitter for long or just coming back to the craft after a few years away? Many of us have done that grin
Good luck with the heart cushion cover too.  Oh had a quick look at page 7 and there isn’t a pattern for the hat in the issue.  It looks like its a crochet hat too.
For a similar looking pattern for the hat have a look at this link http://takebacktheknit.blogspot.com/2007/09/zoom-hat-pattern.html
Let us know how you get on and on the main forum page if you scroll down to the Knit Natter section you will find all of us knitter nutters there cheese

Well it looks lovely but I’m just getting back into knitting after a long way away from it and I never learnt how to crochet - maybe for the next issue they can have a knitted muti-coloured hat for summer wink. Thanks for the link. :D

In that case Jaye I found this knitted one although it requires double point needles!

Basically the hat in the mag is a bucket or cloche hat.  There are always hats coming up in the LK mag too so just keep your eyes peeled grin
I took a long break too before I got back into knitting and I could crochet but forgot!  Look forward to seeing you on the forum and if there’s anything you need to ask I’m sure one of us will know or will be able to point you in the right direction smile

Hi I’m new here. I rediscovered knitting about 8 months ago and have taught myself to use dpns. I’m now sock crazy and am looking forward to knitting the finglerless gloves in this issue. I knit on the way to and from work as I have 3 hours of travel a day - it’s great, I can make a pair of socks in just over 2 weeks journeys!

Hi Debra and welcome!
Not sure where you would get the mag in the USA but try looking on subscriptions as they may post out to you grin

Hi
My name is anne, im new here, all the way from sunny northern ireland
i have always knit, and so does my mother, but we have very few wool shops left over here
could anyone on here tell us where we could buy wool wholesale, as mum and i would consider setting up a wool shop, but i have never been able to find a wool wholesaler

Hi Anne and welcome!

I’m down in sunny Southern Ireland!  Have you thought of going to the websites of the main wool producers like Sirdar, Tivoli etc?  They may have a link or you could email them.  Also might be a good idea to look through the classifieds in the LK mag as this might have a few answers and good luck to you.

There wasn’t a wool shop in our town until our craft shop started to stock a few balls back in the spring and then it really took off and they have a very large section now and a new wool shop has opened in our town now too.  I think its becoming very popular again so a woolly venture might be right for just now so go for it cheese

Hello LK peoples smile

I have only been buying the LK mag for about 3 months… but really love it!
I have been knitting since I was little, but never really taken it seriously until now… so I am still a huge novice! But I am enjoying the calming effect knitting has on me ^.^

Erm… a little about me? I’m 24 and have just moved to Manchester after spending my entire life in Derby… so scary! And I work in admin smile

Hello and welcome Boris grin

If you scroll down the the main forum page to the Knit Natter section you will find most of the knitters lurking around there and there is also an SOS section - essential for new and old knitters alike smile  Really glad you’re enjoying knitting - it kept me sane when I moved to a new country and has helped me to make loads of new friends both online and in “real” life LOL  If you’ve moved to a new area I’d advise you to hunt down a knitting club - great way to make new friends!

Pop down and say hello to us in the Knit Natter section too if you can and its great to have you onboard grin

Hi Emma, welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately I can’t help, as I’m not a knitter. But there is a special knitting section on this forum with many knowledgeable, experienced and helpful knitters.

Hi all,

I’m Razzi and caught the knitting bug whilst on holiday last year (my friend taught me how to knit by the pool!)  I’m fairly newish and have so far made scarves for my sisters for Christmas, a cuddly catterpillar from a LK mag pattern (for my nephew’s 1st birthday)  as well as baby mitts for my best friend’s baby…there’s nothing so thoughtful as a handmade gift I’ve found….

I’ve recently moved onto decreasing stitches hence the mitts and have just completed my first (fairly gnome-like) hat…oh well practice makes perfect I guess.

A bit about me, I’m 30, married and a secondary school teacher in Hertfordshire.

I don’t think my friend knew that she was creating a knitting monster when she taught me cheese

Nice to meet you all on here
Razzi
