Hi all,

Due to some complaints from members, we have edited our Rules & Regulations [which can be found under the announcements list at the top of every section] to include the below details on challenges that are set by members.

Please note that we aren’t trying to stop members setting challenges, we just need to make sure we protect all our users from being mislead while on the boards. Although we aren’t directly involved in setting these challenges, we are automatically associated with the because they appear on our forum - because of this we have decided they require regulation in order to make sure that it’s kept fair.

You don’t need to PM us if you’d like to start a challenge, we will just keep an eye on things and be in touch with anyone we have concerns about. We hope you understand.

Challenges – NEW section please read!
* It has come to our attention that many members on the forum are setting their own challenges and offering prizes to the lucky winners, which is fantastic and completely voluntary. However, we have also noticed that some members are making a habit of not returning to announce the winner and send out the prize, as promised. Please note that although it’s up to individual members whether they want to set a challenge, once they’ve set one it’s courteous to see it through as promised to avoid misleading other members.
Because of this we are introducing a new ‘three strikes’ policy. Should a member repeatedly host a challenge and not send out a prize/notify a winner, after three times they will be BANNED from hosting challenges full stop.
We do understand that there are circumstances beyond your control which may affect this, so if this does happen during a challenge you have set through no fault of your own, please PM either myself or Emma, as we will look at each incident individually to keep things fair.

thank you kate I have ran two challenges since joining in January I really love hosting them makes som ones day when they win a challenge some think they worked so hard on.

My second up and running at the moment Russian dolls challenge. I always see it through sounds fair though

3 strikes and ban sounds fair all that hard work and not to find out the winner of a challenge not be very nice xxx

Hope all challenges get carried through don’t think anyone would like a ban from hosting a challenge.

good idea as I love setting and joining challenges and hard work goes into both and its only common courtesy to reply and give your prize.Isabelle x

That does sound fair to me.
I haven’t set a challenge yet but hope to do so once I’ve moved house & settled in.
Think members need to know that there is an end result for their challenge makes as they don’t want to be put off from entering any more challenges.
It’s also very kind of the people who do challenges & see them through to the end.
Thank you

I think that’s a fabby idea.  I don’t host competitions…................I can’t commmit to do something like that…..........however I may join in one sometime, so it’s great to know that things are being watched over.  I would like to take this opportunity to say a great big thank you to all who run this lovely forum as I know it isn’t always plain sailing and you are probably in the firing line more times than you would care to admit…......so a GREAT BIG thank you to you all smile

Sounds fair to me , as i know some are still waiting on the winner of the Easter challenge. It’s not fair when all the hard creative work and time goes into these challenges then nothing happens.it ‘s such a shame so hopefully the new rules will stop this.
Thanks judex

It sounds very fair.

It is a shame that this monitoring is necessary, but it is so good to see how you are looking after all of us.
