Hello,

I have got my bug now and have to old card making obsession going on at the moment but I feel that I need an alphabet die to get me on my way!

If you could recommend a good one or at least what brands are best to go for I would be a very happy bunny smile

I am looking online at the moment but may hold off till I go to the craft event at Newcastle arena just incase there are any bargins!

Any suggestions are hugely appreciated :D

Hi Aims
There is a few out there, the one I got was the Olivia set, I feel that this is a bit big for certain projects though, have looked at a few others, but have not decided on any yet.

Thank you ladies smile

I like the Olivia one Janice, it is really pretty…I just have no concept of size! I have seen some sizzix ones on ebay but I don’t know if they are too small and can they be used in the bug?

I know that the sizzix lite works in the cuttle, have heard that you can use them all but never tried, that it where I got mine at about half the price I had seen elsewhere.

Hi Aims
Here is a pic of one of the letters on a card to give you an idea of the size of the letters in this set.

I have the Olivia too. But I think the size is fine. the capital letters are about 3cm high and lower case about 2 and a half cm high.
Here is something I made with my alphabet a while ago

I have a few sets (9 to be exact) of the cuttlebug ones. Mega bargain on ebay! Paid what it costs me to buy 2 sets in a store here!
Anyway I have found the metal cuttlebug dies to be stronger and cut better than the sizzlit alphabet ones that are plastic backed. I do love the sizzix bigger dies, just I find the sizzlits need extra shimming and don’t cut chipboard or fabric like the cuttlebug dies.

I can take a pic of them next to a tape measure if that helps. A couple of them are still in the packs as I haven’t had a chance to use them yet. Just PM me.

Sizzlets are only designed to cut paper and card, they are not heavy enough for anything thicker. Sissix originals are the only ones thick enough to cut chipboard etc.

I have Olivia and Hippy Chick - they are both around the same size, so imagine all the bug alphabets wil be too. I love them! As you said pb the metal dies do seem to be more robust. Mine were bargains on Ebay too smile

I have the Olivia alphabet too and love it. I don’t think it is too big. I bought it on ebay too and it was a bargain

I have the “Yarn” alphabet from Sizzix.  You can see it on this card.

Sizzix will work in your bug - but they are much bigger to store.  I am stll dithering about an alphabet - I fancy uisng them on chipboard or felt - so I kinf od feel I can’t have them too skinny.
