Epic Six not required!!! (hot off the) letterpress!

Hi all, just to clarify my ‘Cryptic title’; I’ve just bought a bargain letterpress starter kit from ‘Mad about cards’; (9.99, should have been 40-odd quid); and have to tell you that you DO NOT need to buy an Epic Six - as stated on the box - in order to use this! I saw a demo on u tube, which inspired me to give it a go. I got 9 printing plates and a tube of ink included in the pack to get me started, and ran them through just on the kit platform on my Big Shot, and they worked out fine. Therefore I hope to save some of you the cost of the Epic Six before you rush out to buy it in order to use your letterpress kits! Just goes to show it pays to improvise!

Score Board

I’ve had a score board now well over a year and i really have not got a clue what to do with it or how to use it. So far all i’ve done is just about scored a line to fold the card. But i’ve had to measure with a ruler where i wanted to score. sort of was under the impression you didn’t need to do this with it so any tips/ videos or advice would be greatly recieved.

Grand Calibur die cutting machine

Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone owns a Grand Calibur and can let me know if they think it is worth the investment. I have had a cuttlebug for ages and originally used it to emboss but lately I have got addicted to the nestabilities and use it so much! I have seen the Grand calibur can do much larger die cuts and although I think the look of the thing is not very attractive I am quite tempted by it I would appreciate any comments, advice etc. Thanks in advance x

Craft Robo CC330

I am new to the forum so ’ Hi to everyone’!

I bought the CC330 and have found it very difficult to master!! I have since bought the Cricut which is a doddle, however, I do not like being beaten when it comes to learning something new!!

1) Can anyone confirm if the CC330 is virtually the same machine as the Silouette
2) Can I use the Silouette software etc on the CC330 machine
3) And would this software really make it easier to use

Has anyone else used these? Do they cut ok for you? I recently treated myself to the frames and swirls set. It’s so pretty but it won’t cut! I have to go back and forth over the die about 10 times to get it to cut through which is something I can’t really manage with my health. I’m wondering if they are just meant for paper? I do like to use card really. Anyway if anyone else has problems or has any tips I’d be really interested to hear thanks, as they are such pretty dies that’s it’s a shame if they don’t work.

Free Silhouette software for the Craft Robo

If you own a Craft Robo there is a new software program Called SILHOUETTE STUDIO for it as a free down load from the on line shop. It is absolutely FANTASTIC
I have been messing around with it for the last two nights and it is SO easy to use and very versatile. You can flood fill any of the fonts and patterns that you want to use and the choice of colours is limitless. There are also patterns and shaded patterns to use. You will never need to find the right shade of card or paper again and can cut the whole pattern or letters out of the same sheet of card . Making words straight onto the screen instead of the little window as in the Robo software is SO much easier too. Check it out for yourself. It only takes minutes to download and will transform the way you use the Robo machine.

I wonder if anyone can help my friend, I dont know the answer. !!

On the gsd files robo cutting window everything that needs to be cut has to be inside the red frame
somehow she has moved this and half of it is outside the black frame and we dont know how
to return it to the original place. She has written to David at robocraft but no answer , thank you

Bamboo v’s Metal crochet hook

I’m just getting in to crochet and so fars i’ve been using the same metal hook for everything.
I’m looking to get a full set of hooks to play with different yarns but wondered what people’s views were regarding bamboo v’s metal hooks.
The metal ones seem cheaper but do the bamboo hooks give better results?

xyron design runner problem

Hello, well I have just bought a second hand xyron design runner with some cartridges for thirty pounds and thought wow what a bargain. I come to use it. The advert said it’s only been used once. I come to use it and it keeps turning itself off after a few seconds. It might print one or two images ok then off it goes. Do any of you have one of these and does yours do the same can any of you shed any light as to why it is doing this I have changed the batteries tried everything to no avail. joanne x
