Hi this might have been covered else where although i cant for the life of me see it but what are the best papers to try and use when die cutting using a big shot. I will be purchasing the machine on monday and getting some more dies and embossing folders to go with it but was really wondering how easy it was to get the finished result like you see on the website where the dies are all mulitcoloured. I do have some chalks and inkpads too so i know that i could use those to colour in the pieces so to speak. Sorry if i have posted this in the wrong area but fairly new to this site tho quickly addicted to it

Also Im very intrested in taking up the ATC and the fat book pages too if anyone else can shed anymore light on what im supposed to do and how i can swap stuff like that i would be very grateful.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this and for any advice given

Hi,
I have already posted this question in the jewellery section, but thought I’d post it here too. I’ve recently started to have a go at making quilled jewellery. I have bought some lovely metallic paper with metallic edging which I like to use to edge my pieces, but I’m finding my usual tacky craft glues just don’t hold these papers together. Can anyone recommend a glue that might work? I’m tempted to just use small amounts of superglue to hold all the individual parts together whilst still using my tacky glue to make each coil. Would this work?

Thanks!
x

We are heading over to Glasgow Sunday evening for a Baptism. The couple who ra the Christian Explored Course that I went along to, the Wife is going through the Waters of Baptism and I thought I would make a special card for her for the occasion as she and her DH have been of such good support to me and are great friends too.

I really wast very sure what to do for this card so, I remembered someone sent me a lovely card with a decorative cross and took from that. Once sketched I re-did and paited with my water colour paints. Then added on top of decorative paper and adhered with sticky fixers to create dimension. I added on some gems and fiished with the word Baptism writte with watercolour paint & did a simple inside with paterned paper and card blank.

TFl and hope you like it x

I made this card using a cute little chicken stamp from Little Claire Designs, I have coloured the chicken with my promarkers and then cut it out using my nesties and inked the edges before I removed the die. I then chose some yellow card and cut out with the next size die. I used a circle Kraft card blank and added WOC flowers and some pearls. I was surprised when I finished the card that it looks a little like an egg with the colours and shape, not intentional but quite like it x Thanks for looking x

This card has taken me most of the day to make and I am really pleased with how it has worked out. I stamped a crafty Individual sewing machine receipt image and then inked it with Tea Dye Distress ink. I then stamped the sewing machine and carefully cut it out. I also stamped the cotton reel/card and wrapped real thread around it and sewed on three buttons with the same thread. The ribbon was plain cream silk ribbon which I inked with the Tea Dye ink and then stamped the ruler onto the ribbon with Stazon ink. I used Kanban ‘Velacetate’ onto some dark brown card so that the gold sewing machines stood out and then inked a Tim Holtz paper pattern background paper with the same Tea Dye ink and faux stitched around the edge. I added a little sewing machine charm to finish it off. Hope you like it and thanks for looking x

Hi all,

I’m looking for some inspiration for a birthday card for my brother. I don’t want to go down the sports themed route. I fancy something a bit different. I really like the steampunk designs in the most recent edition of Crafts Beautiful. Does anyone have any photos of cards they have made for men that they would like to post on here to inspire me??

Thanks!
