So glad you feel inspired to have a go at making your own jump rings.

I found mandrels in sequences of full millimetre diameters, but was also trying to get 3.5 and 4.5 mm ones.

I managed with metal knitting needles until I tracked down the intermediate sizes.

Easy to do in the UK as knitting needle sizes are now sold by diameter in mms.

I don't know if needle sizes are sold in the same sizing system in Canada?

I had a go at making jump rings several years ago and just gave up. I think I will try it again.  I found some suitable items for helping me make rings. I don't have a flush wire cutter though. This tool is so hard to find.  I need to find some nice colored wire to   :)  I am not even sure about the mandrel and needle sizes here in Canada.  I will find some info on making jump rings. Thanks again Kate.
