Never use the same scissors for cutting material and paper. Have a one pair for paper and card and one for material as cutting paper/card blunts your scissors for material.

Do the same with your sewing needles both hand sewing needles and sewing machine needles and your pins.

Take recyled fabric like cloth, jute, bamboo cloth, or any other used stuff, it can also be plastic. Then we can do some crafting over that piece like embroidery, and other designing work so that it look beautiful and can can be used as a wall hangin. This way it will be eco friendly and hand crafted item as well. you can also add pockets in such wall hangings but then give it vertical shape.

If you want to take a beading project on holiday with you, get a sticky mat (for holding things on car dashboards) from the pound shop and stick it inside the lid of a plastic takeaway container, pop your beads and findings, a 3in1 pair of pliers and some folding scissors (or thread cutter if you're flying) and away you go.  Just peel off the plastic film whenever you want to craft and your beads won't roll off no matter how rough the ride!
