    Newbie! Glass engraving :)

Hi there, I'm Sharon, and I engrave glass! Are there any other glass engravers in here, or is this more of a paper/card/wool crafty forum? I have been engraving since the beginning of this year, and I'm really enjoying it, I will fling a couple of photos on to show you all what I get up to I use a dremel rotary tool, so it's all done by hand rather than laser etching. I have a few things going into my partner's mum's craft & wool shop, and possibly another which is also fairly local, so hopefully will start selling a few soon Glad to be here, and hopefully the comments and threads are less bitchy than the chaos that is facebook!

Hi I'm Deborah and I'm new here, well when I say new I mean I just realised I joined in 2008 but have never really been keeping up to date with the forum or even posted. I'm hoping this will change now though I love all types of craft and I'll give anything a try, but I would say that at the moment I am mainly a paper crafter. I also love mixed media art, digital art, photography and upcycling furniture. Looking forward to participating in this forum and getting to know some new crafting people
  4. Hello everyone; what an adventure this is for a social networking newbie. However, I'm sure I shall emerge from the fog full of inspiration :-) My main interest is sewing at which I hope to improve my skills and judging from what I have managed to read so far, the site seems to be a hive of activity, great skill and knowledge. My mother was a tailor and my grandmother an enthusiastic needlewoman both of whose endeavours to pass on their skills to me did not meet with much dedication. Not being artistic or very imaginative I have to slavishly follow sewing patterns , rather than be able to free cut and sew to fit, so any advice or references available to be gleaned would be extremely appreciated :-)

    Quilting - where to start?

Hello all quilters out there, I'm by no means new to sewing but very much new to quilting and would like to give it a go. Does anyone have any tips or good patterns for a starter please? Do you use patterns for quilting or do you just do your own thing? I really like some vintage Welsh quilts I've seen but that seems to be more stitching patterns into a padded fabric and I'm not sure if people still do these? Any hints are really appreciated! Thank you x

    Newbie - first ever forum

I thought I would post on here to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. 'Hello!' My name is Tamsin and this is the first forum I have ever joined. I'm from Cheshire and have been sewing, cutting and sticking since I was big enough to stick sequins on my Barbie's clothes. I'm really into anything that's practical and love having a go at new things but my main focus is dressmaking, patterndrafting and cutting and machine embroidery. I'm really looking forward to having other sewers to share ideas and discussions with! x
