knit&flee got a reaction from RomPr in Papercrafter subscription gift
Hello! I bought issue 98 of Papercrafter and decided to subscribe as I liked the Tattered Lace free gift on p.25. My first subscription issue was 100. I knew the gift would come separately, but after a month it hadn't arrived so I rang the helpline. They've told me it's with their 3rd party distributor and has been since September! I've rung every week since to find out what's happening and I'm told the same, ie nothing has changed in all that time. I confess my patience is definitely thinning! I only subscribed because that particular gift was of interest to me. Please can someone sort this out for me? I'd be most grateful.

Good morning Eliza and all who follow. I was woken up by the smell of frying bacon at 5am. Hmm, I thought, OH is having a sneaky, early morning fry-up. When I couldn't get back to sleep I got up and found he'd not been anywhere near the kitchen and is still fast asleep! I wonder if I dreamt it...

And now of course I'm famished!

I'm planning lots of reading today and knitting. I want to get a bit more of my lace scarf done.

Thank goodness it's cooler this morning - I feel human again. Let's hope it stays that way. Have a great day folks.

Afternoon. Totally floppy today - I resemble a wilted bit of celery. Such a stressful day, but I'm feeling better now. I was woken by breaking glass at stupid o'clock - OH put his foot through the oven door and smashed it. Then kids from down the road started shouting and screaming outside our house and I collapsed. Now I'm watching Colombo and knitting my sock. I'm increasing a tiny amount as I go up the calf, so nearly done.

Su2ie, those bookmarks are so pretty.
CN, hope you're having fun sewing.
Tracey, cor you've definitely earned a cuppa and craft time!
Lisa, hello hope you're having a good day.

I'm off to marmalise OH. He's now cleaning the windows (which he spattered in mud a few days ago) and making them squeak loudly! Grr.

    Have a good afternoon all.

Afternoon! Work finished and now spread out in front of the tennis with my idea book and magazines to cut and paste.

Goose, well done getting the decreasing out the way. Enjoy making your Attic 24 bag - she designs some lovely stuff.
Stakreem, can't wait to see what your mystery craft work in progress is - does it involve tennis balls?!?

Here's my finished lace flower in half stitch, with an orange whole stitch underneath. I'll look up the 3rd variation later - there's 6 in my kit.

    Happy crafting.

Good morning. Just a quick one from me to show you the finished bit of lace I've been working this week. The ends need sewing to the start, then gathering along the straight edge to form a flower, which I'm not very good at. I'll do that after work.

Have a good day all - especially while the sun's out!

Eliza, I'm only a beginner lace maker, but it's stupidly easy to get started. What takes the time is winding the bobbins. When you get going there's literally just 2 moves - like we have knit and purl - you learn (cross and twist) and it's the different combos of those that make the patterns.

KnF alternative embroidery. .I may be wrong on general name but it was explained to me at an exhibition by a lady in Embroiders Guild. . You do parts as straight forward embroidery but then you do your own thing..I've use a crochet hook and yarn and.built up 3D effect on trees. .used acrylic paint on fabric and cut petals to build flowers.. it's s work in progress and no idea what I will do with it eventually but fun to pick up ..I'm now.quilting around trees..think basically you just let it flow and break all the rules.

Liz I have bought a small wedge heel sandal..very firm fitting and will put a very sensible pair in car to use later.

A car pulled up so looks liIkeahere endth the peace.

Enjoy your weekend..I may get back.

knit&flee got a reaction from Serendipity2 in WWKIP Saturday
Morning. I went to town early to stock up on some stretch lace trim and there were Morris dancers everywhere! Had to walk right through them to get to the craft shops. Very strange. The shop still has its 25% off sale on, so I got a bargain. Treated myself to new mascara too - I don't think I've bought any since I was a teen (looong ago! ) as you always get magazines giving them away.

So today I'll finish the chemise (just the back hem to line with lace), then set about cutting out my sleep top and shorts, which I'm making from the Sew A Metre book. I got some very cute large pink hearts on white background cotton in the sale.

Eliza, happy WWKIP Day. I feel like I should have visited the yarn shop now too!

    Have a good day folks.

Hello. Feeling relatively human today, yay! Been to work this morning (although I didn't get a thing done as I was in and out of meetings) and went for a short walk when I got in.

Su2ie, hope you get your nets up soon. Eeep, scary neighbours give me the willies!
Eliza, enjoy your time in the garden and don't overdo it - make sure you, um, test the sun loungers still work!
Tracey, hope you had a lovely morning and work flies by for you this afternoon.

I'm doing some black jumper knitting in front of the telly. I'll walk to the postbox later and that's all I've got planned.

Hello. Still struggling but thought I'd say hi and worry about the rest of the day later. Who needs clothes and breakfast anyway?!

Eliza, have a fab day at the wool festival.
Su2ie, well done on the editing. It's definitely the hardest part. I'm going on a 1-day editing course in a couple of weeks.
Stakreem, have a lovely day wherever you're going.

My priorities today are washing, dressing and feeding myself. Anything on top of that will be a bonus.

Hello. I've been struggling with health so not had the energy to come on. Hope everyone is well. I've just finished floaty cardy and wanted to show you - pic hopefully attached. If I'm well enough I'll wear it to a friend's wedding next weekend.

Have a good evening all. I think of you all often.

    Good morning.

Eliza, enjoy going to your son's and seeing all the grandchildren.
    Stakreem, have fun with Jade.

I'm knitting in front of the TV this morning. Hopefully there's a close-up of the green lace scarf I'm making. The black cardy is also being worked on, but won't photograph well - it's just 50+ rows of rib and stst at the mo so not very exciting.

Later,a couple of friends from work are popping in for a cuppa. They're wedding shopping for one of them. It'll be *so* nice to see people again.i haven't been up to visitors before now.

    Have a good day folks.

Tracey, enjoy your walk and lunch out.
Eliza, hope your finger heals. The embroidered flowers are gorgeous!
Stakreem, hope the crocheting is coming along well.
Suzy, hope your afternoon runs smoother.
Goose, tee-hee, yes any mention of knitting and jumpers in the same sentence is enough for me!

Well I've been trying to take it easy this morning. Has anyone heard of Deliciously Ella? I got her 2nd book and tried one of the breakfast recipes this morning. It required blending, but when I attached it the liquid started pouring out the bottom! Quick decant to the mixer and cloths to wipe up the worst and it tasted fab. I texted OH to tell him what happened and he texted back saying he unscrewed the bottom before I got up to see if it came off - ARGH!!!! Men!

I've been half toying with going into town this afternoon as we badly need more airtight containers, but I don't think I can manage going into town for cash as well as out to the shop I want - so infuriating.

I've got lots of knitting to keep me busy this afternoon. Floaty cardy band is still on hold as I just don't fancy working with that yarn. Black cardy is coming on well, but I have to make myself put it down after 2 rows and have a rest before I do more - it's hard stopping. And green lacy scarf is coming along very well. I can do 4-6 rows of that at a time as the rows are much shorter.

    Have a jolly afternoon all.

Hello. Lovely and sunny here for now. I went out early for a very short walk in case it was the only sun we got today, but after a very heavy downpour when I got home, it's lovely out again. Here's a pic of Old Kitty enjoying the back garden.

I'm still knitting the band/collar for floaty cardy - I reckon I'm over 1/2 way round at 180 rows. I'm dying to get my new black yarn out and start my v-neck. What am I like with my jumper knitting - I'll have to go to jumper knitters anonymous!
