#727740 The Good Morning Thread

Posted by Dazzle 10 on 17 October 2008 - 01:10 PM

Hey guys,

Just so you know, we are now going to use this thread for ALL ‘Good Morning’ Messages so that they are all in the same place and no one misses out on all the juicy forum gossip - so no more confusing threads!

Also, I would just like to say thanks to ALL who have started a morning thread and have helped continued this remarkable regular topic. Many members here are always posting on the Morning Threads and it is always a pleasure to read what all the members are doing, so thanks everyone for your postings!

#752747 Updated rules and regulations

Posted by Crafts Beautiful 5 on 13 December 2010 - 03:09 PM

Hi everyone

I just want to draw your attention to our updated rules and regulations. We were aware there was some confusion regarding what counted as advertising and that there were concerns about spam, so hopefully this should assist us in dealing with these problems.

We hope the new system should ensure there are no loopholes, so that spammers can not slip through the net and also help everyone to clarify what is allowed in their signatures.

If there are any queries, don't hesitate to contact either myself or Kate Hemmings.

Thanks
Tanya

#762104 Collective project

Posted by Bobsie on 11 November 2012 - 04:41 PM

Hello all you lovely people. There has been some talk of a collective project in the Good Morning Thread, so I thought I would start a thread to see if there would be any interest in such a project and the kinds of crafts everyone is into so that we could come up with a project that everyone, who wants to, can get involved with. There's no real plan as yet, as there is no point going into details if no one is interested, so it's just an information finding thread for now.  The general idea is that everyone does part of a project and mails it on. All ideas and suggestions welcome. (I hope people are ok with me posting this and don't think I've just taken it into my own hands, just thought I'd get the ball rolling) If one of our lovely mods could sticky this that would be great.

#760131 Abbreviations Defined.

Posted by craftylynney on 24 May 2012 - 12:39 PM

Just thought there should maybe be a thread where abbreviations are defined as I sometimes don't understand some of them. Just thought this could be of use to others as well?? Especially some crafty abbreviations like LOC flowers??? What do you guys think? x

#734784 New Section: Rules & Regs!

Posted by Crafts Beautiful 2 on 24 April 2009 - 12:52 PM

Hi all,

Due to some complaints from members, we have edited our Rules & Regulations [which can be found under the announcements list at the top of every section] to include the below details on challenges that are set by members.

Please note that we aren't trying to stop members setting challenges, we just need to make sure we protect all our users from being mislead while on the boards. Although we aren't directly involved in setting these challenges, we are automatically associated with the because they appear on our forum - because of this we have decided they require regulation in order to make sure that it's kept fair.

You don't need to PM us if you'd like to start a challenge, we will just keep an eye on things and be in touch with anyone we have concerns about. We hope you understand.

Challenges – NEW section please read!
* It has come to our attention that many members on the forum are setting their own challenges and offering prizes to the lucky winners, which is fantastic and completely voluntary. However, we have also noticed that some members are making a habit of not returning to announce the winner and send out the prize, as promised. Please note that although it’s up to individual members whether they want to set a challenge, once they’ve set one it’s courteous to see it through as promised to avoid misleading other members.
Because of this we are introducing a new ‘three strikes’ policy. Should a member repeatedly host a challenge and not send out a prize/notify a winner, after three times they will be BANNED from hosting challenges full stop.
We do understand that there are circumstances beyond your control which may affect this, so if this does happen during a challenge you have set through no fault of your own, please PM either myself or Emma, as we will look at each incident individually to keep things fair.

#758043 Any Costume makers?

Posted by Mistress Pimperella on 26 November 2011 - 11:42 PM

I love making costumes.  Fancy dress comps etc. I'm just starting back into this as I got so into my hats I never did anything else. But what I really love is that we now have a Manchester Comic Con! Means that every year I now get to plan out costume ideas for me and the kids. Hubby makes his own lol I'm a bit of a Comic Geek so my last 2 Costumes are a Marvel (GunNun from GhostRider) and DC (Duela Dent *Batman/Teen Titans*). I am planning on doing a whole Group for 2012. The Venture Brothers. But the kids have decided they want Little Big Planet 'Sack People' lol Nice one kids, I can't even knit! lol   Anyone else do Costumes?

#721657 Personal Information *UPDATE*

Posted by Nicola J on 18 May 2008 - 12:18 PM

Please,Please be careful when posting on the forum,as there are young ones & others on here that have been posting their contact infomation on the thread, it is lovely that this is sucha a wonderful friendly site, but the posts can be read by anyone, whether they are registered or not, if they do a search this site can be quite easily found on the web!!

If you accept pm's then people who are registered on this can send you messages and then you can send personal email addresses etc.

We dont want to put all the new young ones off or anyone else, you are more than welcome, but unfortunately there are people in webland who are waiting for someone to innocently  post contact information.

BE SAFE ON THE NET!!!!!!!

#830880 Creating Neat Dreamcatchers

Posted by michelle103 on 17 May 2017 - 08:47 AM

I've started learning how to make dream catchers and I think they look so nice but, the cackhanded style is chic and shabby however, I want to make a cleaner, neater dream catcher.

I have tried wax string, yarn and parcle yarn but, I can't seem to get it even, tight and neat.

Does anyone have any tips?
