Hi June and everyone else,
I need to loose some weight but don’t like to set targets I will never reach so will start off by saying I would like to loose a stone. I’ve done it before with both WW and SW but can’t keep it off so just want to get into a healthir eating pattern. I know all the theory as I teach some diet and nutrition as part of my job just struggle to apply it to myself lol
I think this thread is a great idea as we can all help support each other.
Thats fab Jackie, and you and me both. I want to lose approx one stone and a dress size as the meds i am on have caused havoc lol.
I am workingon eating little and often and changing a few things in my diet to keep it varied

That soup sounds wonderful, i like spicy, tasty food, I tend to work my way along the herb bottles,i’ll keep an eye out for your recipe, yes I really should think about a slow cooker, long gone are the days when they exploded or am I thinking of pressure cookers lol.xx
Hi June,
I would like to thank you for setting this all up...us dieters need all the support we can get!
l am on a diet,l attend a place called “Natur House” there are branches all over and in the US.Its based on sound nutrition and natural supplements. You weigh in and get measured every week by a qualified nutritionist. Its become very popular here, with a good number of success stories, and whats better is the maintained weight loss results...so l thought l would give it a go,l have lost 6 kilos so far in aprx 4 weeks,l am so pleased.I will try to continue and hope to keep losing....its hard at times as l love chocolate and sweet stuff..l have to make 2 chocolate cakes this week for Amanda´s cake sale at school....god help me!
Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the input.X
I have 15 kilos more to lose..
Wow welldone, I feel quite motivated asince reading the thread, its nicer than ww or sw as you dont have to stand and be weighed lol!!
Oh dear not good having to make the choccie cakes, the empty bowl would judt be too tempting.xx
Well done Susan thats fanastic. 6 kilo’s is great. Yes chocolate cake may be a temptation so maybe you can make sure you have just eaten and are not hungry before you begin baking and keep a bowl of fruit or low fat snacks handy in the kitchen while you are in there baking ? I always find it much much easier to resist when i have just eaten a meal than later. I had a lot of baking to do for the christening on Sunday but was good lol ... although i did have christening cake on Sunday ... hehehehe

Just wanted to share this low fat curry recipe. Anyone else got a fave one ?
2 onions, sliced
Half a red pepper chopped
300g mushrooms sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Half teaspoon of cumin seeds
3 tablespoons of tomato puree
3 to 4 tablespoons low-fat plain yogurt
2 teaspoons curry powder
salt and freshly ground pepper
pinch of ground fenugreek (optional)
low fat cooking spray
salt & pepper to taste
Heat non-stick pan and spray with low fat cooking spray, stir in and fry off the the onions slowly until soft and brown. Add all of the other ingredients to the pan and heat gently until simmering then cover the pan with a tight fitting lid and cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.remove lid and continue cooking for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened slightly. If it becomes too thick add a little more yogurt or water. Season to taste and serve with cooked long grain rice or vegetables.
Thanks for this June. My main prob (other than being a chocoholic) is that currently I don’t have and oven or hob! I have got a George Foreman and a microwave, other than micro meals have you any idea?
wow what a great idea for a thread. I’ve just started weight watchers and lost 2lbs last week. I think I need to loose around 3 stone, (always been on the big side) but taking little steps and see how I go. I’d like to loose a stone by xmas and then make a new gol for after then.
My problem is my sweet tooth and no matter what I try the weight comes off then goes back on! So hoping ww helps.
Its weigh in tonight so hopfully I’ll have some more good results but the chocolate has been calling or me this week so I doubt it lol.
