I just bought a spice pack and just followed the instructions.  I did heat it up in a saucepan first - then popped it into the slow cooker and it just kept it at the right temperature all evening.  I normally faff about reheating it.

Rice pudding sounds great - I do mine in the oven but do speed it up by starting with hot milk from the microwave.

Loving the recipes - I must get mine out

Don’t know how we would cope without our slow cookers ( blush blush yes we have two!).
I really love the fact, like you, Isabelle, that you can use cheaper cuts. If they are very fatty, we cook overnight then allow to cool during the day so that it is easy to remove the fat before evening meal time. Do you do that too?
Alan is a big fan of using fruit as well in his creations - it might be apricots, prunes or whatever he can lay his hands on. He is a dreadful cupboard rummager! surprised  But great that he loves to cook too! grin

I dug out my slo cooker recipe book today, I was wondering if it can be used for pickling etc.  I couldn’t see anything in it about that, so I may need to look the instruction book or google LOL

pickling eh, can’t help you there sorry I lost my slow cooker instruction booklet. I’m sure someone will be able to help you though. I’m off shopping tomorrow so that I can attack my slow cooker. I have already popped my pulses in water to soak overnight going to throw those in too.

One of my recipe books gives details for a chillied tomato and garlic chutney. So must be possible.
