Are you making any?

I like to make something - on the past I have made scarves, mini album, notepads, CD door hangers, covered coasters, expolding box, beady bookmarks ...and this year I am stumped.

I like to make for Mum and Dad, my friends daughters and my friend.

So far I am thinking of just getting together a hot chocolate mug with some choccy goodies and making some cookies to go with them.

What are you all doing?

That’s a nice idea!

Pink-Punk, what sort of crafting do you do? You could try making some jewellery or knitting something? Everyone is getting knitted hats and jewellery from me this year- even the boys hehe!

You could always have a go at stitching a make up bag or little purse, or one of those lovely lavender pillows?

I’m not very well versed on parchment craft I’m ashamed to say, what sort of things can you make from it? Could you make something special and personal, that you could put in a frame as a gift?

I still have some clip frames that I could decorate - but not sure how!

Perhaps I ought to break out my glass paints again

Clip frames are those photo frames where they do not have a frame they are glass with a hardboard back, and they are just held together with special spring clips.  IKEA and places like that tend to sell them.

here is one I decorated with paper punches

the link is here if the pic doesn’t show

Thanks for the link to the glass painting

I’d never thought of that, it looks really good.

I’ve got a grandfather I never know what to buy for but every one is always giving him pictures of the great grand kids and he never has anywhere to put them.  This way he gets something he can use for Christmas!

And the cookie idea has helped me too!!  I never know what to get my daughters teacher, every one gives her chocolates, but I could get Teri to make some biscuits at the week end and get a cheap but nice mug in town!

Thanks guys!! That’s really helped me!

I think that sounds perfect - great to get the children involved, I am sure the children will appreciate it

I’m also attempting to stitch a bag from a pattern for one of my best friends, out of really funky fabric. I’m going to put some cosmetics and crafty bits in it for her, so I’m hoping it all goes to plan with no wonky seams, as I would hate to ruin the fabric!

I love all the ideas that are cropping up in here- I can tell this is going to be a real life-saving thread!

I’m also creating a hamper for my grandparents. I’ve been collecting jars of mustard, jams, posh biscuits and the like and I’m going to get a basket which I’m going to decorate, wrap it all in tissue paper or cellophane and add little fabric tops to all the jars country-style. Hopefully it will work out quite well.

I’m making hampers, craft one for my little sisters, food one for my parents (although so far all me and my brother can think of is types of chocolate to give them, and wine), so making them in the way that I have to collect everything together and make it all look pretty. for some reason my brother wants to get a plant for the hamper for my parents as well, but my Mum already has loads of plants and my Dad will easily kill it if we leave it to him so I’m going to have to talk him out of that.

I know what you mean about plants, Mental Sarcasm, my Grandad bought my Mum a supposedly ‘unkillable plant’ a couple of years back. True to form, it died shortly after wink She has the complete opposite of green fingers!!!

I’m baking a few things for gifts, which gives me an excuse to leave them til late- just simple biscuits and things which I’m going to put in embellished tins or baskets.
