I think Dawn Bibby holds crafting weekends at her shop, try http://www.topazcrafts.tv - there should be a link to the craft workshops.

I’d love to go, but don’t want to go on my own :-(

Oh, and I’m in Liverpool

No I haven’t, the nearest I’ve come to one was when I went to visit my sister in Dorset, she’s a crafter too and we had a fun 2 days crafting...wish she lived down the road!!

If you are into Scrapbooking, then Scrapaholics have regular retreats.

I think a hotel on Dartmoor does Golf and Crafting holidays.

My friend has been on one (to expensive for me!) And she was absolutely waked out when she came back.

Would love to go on a craft break ... what bliss!  Just don’t have much spare ‘cally~dosh’ at the moment so will have to add it to my “Wish List” and think positive thoughts.  smile

I’ve never been on a crafting break. But I like meeting fellow crafters at local crafts fairs. That can also be very inspiring and a lot of fun - and doesn’t cost as much as a crafting break.

I would too love to go on a craft weekend, by stopping in a b&b;, and trying out new techniques, with like minded people. Who are these people in Ipswich who arrange them, and what qualifications have they to do it?
However, I would just like to meet with a bunch of people who were good at cardmaking and try new things, in a safe and secure atmosphere, with no-one laughing at my rather pathetic attempts. My card teacher (I can only afford to go on a course around every eight months, because it means taking a day off work) says there is no such thing as a mistake, it is just a creative opportunity. However, my efforts sometimes draw amusement from my class members.

Hi everyone!
After reading all of your responses in this thread I decided to do some more research into some of the crafty holidays available. And this then inspired me to write a whole feature on the subject!! So don’t miss ‘Pack & Dash’ in the new March issue of Crafts Beautiful (out Friday 8th Feb). It certainly got me in the holiday mood!! I hope you enjoy it!

Here are some good sites for scrapbooking retreats:

http://www.scrappingangels.co.uk
http://www.scraagogo.co.uk - GoGo Getaway

http://www.atripdownmemorylane.co.uk

wwww.scrappersparadise.co.uk

I also did a search last year and there are craft cruises, mostly in the USA.

And for anyone wanting a free holiday, a tip from my SiL, who keeps nagging me to do this: cruise companies are always on the look out for people who can do stuff, be it in entertainment or craft.  One cruise my SiL went on there was a craft workshop, the lady who ran the workshop only worked for a few hours a day, she got the rest of the time off, plus cabin, food etc… I’ve half looked into it, and it is possible.

I’ve been to scrap-a-ganza in Holland last year & heading again in June this year. It’s fab....just 3 days of non-stop scrapbooking! They’re having one in stafford-on-avon (or someplace like that...not so good with place names) the middle of june too cos so many uk people go over to it.

The cruise thing sounds good but...must have a look into that smile

I was booked to go on one with Imag-e-nation in nov at the craft barn, but it was cancelled as the place closed down due to new ownership.

Would still like to go on a craft trip though.

I would still like to know about these people in Norwich - does anyone know who they are, and what craft breaks they do - or if they still do them.
I would also be interested in the scrapbooking one in STratford - is it with Blue Moon crafts by any chance?
I did read the article in Crafts Beautiful, but they all seem to need a passport, and I haven’t got one, nor do I like flying. I do travel - mostly by car, as I’m disabled (walk with a stick, badly!), but I do like my husband to drive if it is more than a few miles.
Is there anyone out there who can help me???????????
