grinHoney, one I went to was a church one, keep eye on the local paper and you might see them advertising one coming up,you call and book your table. Hope this helps.

Ps. If I were you and had lovely wedding invites etc,I would put advert in local paper, also watch out for wedding fairs and ask to book table there as well.

Good morning maureen, I usually do one in a local church and some times do cowdenbeath market .I did put an advert in the local paper but it was 25pounds for 1 week and I only got 1 order I haven’t done it since it’s just too expensive.I have been asked to do wedding fairs but I just don’t have the 200pound fees for the tables. I need the sales
to be able to pay for the advertising I need to get the sales if that makes any sense.
I can go the market be thee all day and not make the pitch back because there are big stalls selling cards at 1pound or less. I can’t compete with that. I also have an advert on yell.com and in the yellow pages and I haven’t had a single enquiry from it I really thought being in the yellow pages would make a difference. I have business cards and leaflets everywhere but I get no response. It’s so difficult to know what to do.
Sorry I didn’t mean to moan it’s just so frusrating.

grin Hi Honey,
didn’t think it would cost so much for adverts,If I was still doing our Parish magazine, you could have had advert lot cheaper than that! James my hubby and I were involved in many things with our Church,James a E/Mininster, and on altar, we also both parish members of council for Church,I along with small group did Parish Magazine, but since we both getter older and not keeping to great,we stopped everything,do miss it,but I will be 60yrs in July, and hubby is 63yrs so really we have taken our turn.
Oh I do go on,what I meaning to say, whats cost of advert with extra paper and have you put leaflets up in Swimming pools,as well as all the shops that will let you,What about doing a party, invite friends and family, sell what you have that night, ask womans guilds if they would like you to come along and do a demo and if you bring stuff with you to sell would the members craft with you!! Don’t give up so soon, keep your chin up and keep thinking, where else can I try what else can I do.
I do wish you all the luck in the world.
Love Maureen x

Hi maureen thank you for your kind words I have tried the swimming pool I took a basket along every month for a year and sold only 1 card in that time but they never had them on display sometimes the basket would come back untouched. My family situaton at the moment prevents me from having parties although I could ask a freind I used to do partyplan so may give it a try.
best wishes

Hi Maureen I hate to keep saying it but I’ve already tried the wedding shops, florists and hairdressers and chemists but got nothing.I put an ad in the extra and it cost me 25pound
for 1 week and I only got 1 order for 3 cards. I check the extra and times every week
and go to the car boots that are near me I always do craft fair in St.Serfs in lochgelly and the one in the parish church in town. I have contacted all the local schools and playgroups etc.i was asked to go to kircaldy museum but they decided they were too like what they already had.
best wishes.
